[Feedback] to Alpha One after 5 weeks of testing

kryPrimkryPrim Member, Alpha One, Alpha Two, Early Alpha Two
My feedback after 5 test weeks.

General

I really enjoyed exploring the world of Verra during the test weeks. I met many new players and was able to help new players in the stream and finally show and explain everything live.
I found the world very beautiful despite many placeholders and inr 4K, everything looked even more beautiful. It took me 5 weeks to get my cleric to level 15, because I had to stop at every corner and always discover something new. :)

Thanks for that!

Atmosphere

The world felt very coherent for an alpha and I enjoyed every minute in the world. You could discover a lot of places.
The places were beautiful and harmonious; dark and gloomy; peaceful and dangerous; mysterious and mystic.
You could find hidden places, which was a lot of fun for me.
I loved seeing the trees move in the wind, the fog build up and it felt more dangerous right away.
How the shadows went with the sun and the waves on the ocean made it more comfortable to sit on the shore and fish.

Classes

Mage Level 15

I had a level 15 mage and he was a nice damage machine.
Thanks to the AOE skills you were a serious threat in PvP and could support a rush well.

Cleric Level 15

The Cleric was the one I played the most in the 5 weeks and it was a nice experience.
Damage and healing were nicely in sync and you could pull larger groups as well.

Tank Level 10

I played the tank last weekend and was disappointed until level 10.
You could hardly do any damage solo and quickly lost the fights if you didn't have a healer or 2nd teammate with you.
From level 10 on you could finally make a difference in a fight and it was a lot more fun.. But the beginning was very tough as a solo tank.

PvP

Open World PvP has unfortunately not been fun for me.In addition, PvPing in the Open World felt delayed and somewhat jerky..
PvP in Castle Siege was more fun, it was not so delayed and there were no jerks.
There was a massive difference between Node Gear and crafted ear. It’s not very fun when a player can easily defeat a lv 10+ char just because of the gear.

Castle Siege

It was a lot of fun to have big PvP battles.
Unfortunately, the Trebuchets had a big advantage over the Ballistas in terms of range.
Unfortunately, as a defender, I didn't see the point in manning the ballistas if they couldn't reach the Trebuchets.
I would have liked to hit the dragons much more often, but unfortunately it was very hard to find people for that on Tenok.

The ice dragon was the worst of the lot and I died too many times on those. :)
The fire dragon was really easy to kill with kites.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t do the Forest Dragon..

But all 3 dragons are beautiful and powerful dragons.
The skills also radiate this power and it was a lot of fun to fight against them.

Weapons

I found the melee weapons unfortunately much too weak. I chose the wand for mage and cleric.
This is where I would like melee weapons to feel more powerful later on.

Armor

I only got Epic level 15 equipment via the quest with the cleric.
It was nice to notice the difference from the normal equipment and felt stronger right away. :)

The armor already has beautiful 3D models and I'm excited to see what we end up with.

Mounts

It was nice to have so many different mounts and some already had spells and different functions.
The 3D models were very nice and it was fun to test all the mounts.
The best part here was the final day where we got to fly through the world on a mount for the 1st time. <3

Characters

I found it nice to see how the hair of the characters moved in the wind and also that there were already NPC's that moved in the world in the camps (patrolled).
Am very curious how many hours I have to put into my character at release. :)

Nodes

It was nice to see that the system was already working well to some extent.
I was happy to have been lucky enough to find a level 3 node that could build 1x buildings later on.
This allowed me to finally see what the node would look like when the buildings were built and what new features they would bring.
The nodes were already beautiful at level 3, I was lucky enough to see all the skins. :)
I would have liked to see a storage facility in the Node where you could have secured your resources before dangerous adventures and not just in the form of a house.
Would wish that we later on could rent in each node a temporary storage space, gladly also only for 1 or 2 days and then with a cooldown.

Housing

I was able to buy a house in the node and found it nice that you already had a box to store in it. I am curious how it will be when we can design the house inside ourselves. :)

Crafting

It was a lot of fun to farm and craft and see what we have to make later before we can hold the finished product in our hands.
And that crafted equipment is better than what you could find in the open world.

Creatures

The creatures felt dangerous and threatening from the 1st second.
I liked that you also had nice level 1 models here and not like in many other MMOs where you have to fight a level 1 rabbit first.
The 3D models were really nice for an alpha.

Skills

I liked the fact that you could skill your class as individually as you wanted and not everyone was running around the same.
I am curious how it will be when everything is implemented in this system.

Guild

I couldn’t level my guild high enough to reach the higher buffs, but what I could already see was fun.
I would still wish in the guild menu that you can see the class / level / skills and the online status of other members.

Mini-Bosses

We did all the mini-bosses we could find and I found it varied and nice to see what abilities were already implemented.
Unfortunately the drops you got from some bosses weren't that good. :)

Bosses

We did all the dragons, demons and the 40s raid and you can already feel how powerful these bosses were.
The 3 models and effects were just beautiful and made you want to do more.
The different mechanics on the bosses also worked well and it was good to see that crafted talismans were also used here to beat the evil fire dragon.

40-man Raid Instance

It was fun to go into this instance with a large troop. I would have liked to see 1 or 2 smaller bosses here, so that you don't just have to run through them.

The raid dragon was unfortunately not as smooth as all the other bosses.
Here it jerked, there were screen freezes and delays.
Unfortunately, after a certain point, I couldn't heal or do damage on the dragon either.

Tab and Action Target

I played all classes in Action Target, it felt freer and reminded me of the good old Apoc times again.

As a healer, it is unfortunately not possible to heal in the Action Target and you had to switch back and forth between tab and action mode. This definitely needs improvement, so that one can heal also in the action target problem-free.
Unfortunately, you could only switch through the enemies via "Tab", but not the allies. Maybe you can bring in an option where I can press another button to switch between the allies.

Camps and Dungeons

I thought the camps were very well done and it was nice to see that you couldn't do them solo so easily and had to communicate with other players.

The dungeons are beautifully designed and some definitely required a group to clear them. .
Would wish for more bosses though and larger areas.

I hope I could convey my 5 weeks endurance test experiences well.
To an exciting next phase and Alpha 2. <3
