In alpha we saw 3 classes only, we know small pieces about Ranger, but do you think they have more behind the scene?

Sure, we dont know when A2 comes out. But A1 was system testing but they could work behind scene on new classes or content. What do you think, how far they are?

I think they're a lot further along than I'd be if it were me making the game.

Edit: but seriously, I think its too early to tell. Many, many features are not in the game.

I mean - do you think they already have more classes finished?

I have never tested the game at such a stage, so I wonder how the developers are progressing. Sorry if my question is not good.

    No

    Finished? No.
None of the classes are "finished".
Ranger was originally intended to be in Alpha One - it's one of the first classes we were able to test back in 2017. But, was left out of Alpha One.

The devs are probably testing some of the other classes now.
They might be testing Niküa. I doubt they are currently testing Orcs.

Thank you, i cant wait to see other races and classes. I hope we will see them "soon"
  • I think they have not yet reached the point of no return. Also, alpha testing, usually means the game is not yet feature complete. More will be added. Nothing is set in stone. So, sure, they have more behind the scenes. The same will be true for alpha2, I bet.

Well they had Ranger "done" as far back as February (Steven said as much during an interview with the Alpha 1 testers) it was just that they hadn't ported the Ranger over to the new backend combat system and were lacking some animations. They also apparently had Orc's done well before February as well.

If Ranger was done, it would have been in Alpha One.
    Lacking some animations isn't done.

I know road after A1 is long, but lot of people saying when A2 come, everything will be faster because slow process is mainly in A1.

Unlikely to be true - especially for Ashes.
Only 4/9 player races in A1.
Only 3/8 primary archetypes in A1.
    No secondary archetypes in A1.
No augments at all in A1.
Only Stage 3/6 Nodes in A1.
    No Artisan professions in A1.
    etc...
    tons and tons to test.

Remember, back in 2018, Ashes was supposed to release before 2020.
It's unlikely that Ashes will release before 2023.

Minimum 3 years to see the realization of AoC.
    2024/2025 If all goes well
2025/2026 If there are any complications
2026/2027 If there are many complications

The point in particular is that AoC wants a great future needs to forge a great foundation to be able to work safely in the coming years. Rushing it would simply hurt itself.

I agree, but long waiting can also hurt. You know... "Star citizen"
