I just signed up!! The only seasons game I ever played was ryzom but it only affected resources. I'm wondering if seasons will affect the magic system?

What are you thinking about? Like stronger ice magic in the winter and earth/air magic in spring an fall? :)
It would be nice to have it ;)
I just think seasons could play in many influences in the game and help immersion. A blocked road is one thing but not casting a fireball while it's raining?

Well. If you haven't used Discord, it would be great to start now! Discord is like skype except along with contacts, its mainly all servers, which you can join or create. Our Discord server is a big part if you want information. We get some sneak peaks, Discord exclusive information and as well as the games Creative Director to talk to us! I'd like to see NPCs that change with day and night. An example was LOTRO where ghost quest givers came out at night.
Id also like to see NPC merchants pack up shop and go home. If you wanted to sell your stuff you'd have to go into a tavern.
I'd also like to see mobs that change with the time of day/night and the time of year. For example Kithicor woods in EQ1. It was a newbie zone by day but an undead filled high level zone at night with some epic raid mobs. If you were running across the world, it was exiting to see if you could make it through the woods before night time and if you couldn't, would you survive?
The poster that mentioned seasons affecting magic, is on to something. It could also affect Armor , weapons etc. I like how that sounds.
It could be as simple as the clothing you wear.
Winter>Thicker>Stamina or equiv -
Summer>Thinner>Stamina or equiv +
Autumn and Spring could be neutral or affect other things.

maybe that's the case, because their making it more immersive so just mabe.
If something like this were to be implemented I would like to see this be applicable to all classes/roles and not just mage/magic classes.
Perhaps we could have seasons aligned to different deities and if the current season aligns with your corresponding deity you would receive buffs like: 10% EXP boost or the aforementioned stamina/magic regen boost. Or perhaps you could pray once a day and receive a more powerful boost for 60 minutes such as: Faster HP regen or a defense boost. Something like this could only be used once per day and only during your deities affiliated season.
They argued vampires should be strong at midnight and weak at midday.
I come to realise that EVERYTHING must have a time and a place.
It is ...what defines all of us.
By inference that means they must have a place and time that they dont fit.
And I love the nature of duality.
Many have bought new ideas to evolve such concepts.....and I love them.
Whether they can be implemented I dont know.
But it would indeed be something special
But, each season typically lasts for a week.
Or in the Lazy Peon QnA ( aocwiki ) it was mentioned that events will bring weather and crops will be affected, water will freeze, etc. So they're definitely going to have it impact the game but how is much further down the road.
A lot of ideas here are really cool though and I really look forward to more information regarding it.
