Shop Signs

I quite liked the Shop Signs from the latest livestream, and it got me wondering which would suit a particular craft/shop/tavern best. For example, I could see number 5 being used for an Armoursmith or a Weaponsmith, or number 1 or 4 for a Tavern.

Also, do you think this will become standard, so when you're running down the street you'll know instantly what the shop sells based on its sign shape, or do you think it will just be whatever happens to be picked at the time?

    I don't like homogenization of signage, at all. But I'm a marketer so my bias is strong and obvious as Steven's sandal covered toes. (Unless he wears socks with them in which case to the stocks with him!)

  • The signs are there to advertise a business, so the best sign is the one that can be seen from miles away. The bigger and brighter the better. Nobody will remember the (well designed) signs from the livestream if there's a "magical" 20 foot tall flashing neon pink alternative.

    • players have been complaining that the "neon dyes of brilliance" crafted by alchemists are being overused for signage. As such:
      >>> Neon Dyes now expire 3 hrs after activation
      >>> Anyone who uses a Neon Dye will be flagged as corrupted for the duration of the dye's effects - use with caution!

    • And finally, We're concerned that Tulnar players are being overwhelmed when trying to adapt to surface living, so we want to let you know there are some plans in the works including:
      >> Tulnar Sunscreen - to help with the issue of their skin smouldering in the sun - together with the summer event's sunglasses, we hope this will encourage them to venture beyond their cave entrances to interact with other races (and to put a stop to the inbreeding).
      >> A promotion event for surface dwelling players called "Adpot a Tulnar"! You'll be able to befriend your very own Tulnar - and to help you take care of them we'll be supplying you with the essentials: materials for crafting cages, leashes, feeding troughs and special Tulnar treats!     My hope would be that the type of sign could be determined by the player instead of determined by the shop type.

  • More options the better, but ya I don't want to see strip bar signs either. I bet that designing your own might be an option in the game using one of the professions.
