Will we be entertained at the INN/ PUBs?

Hi gang, been a long while since I posted a new topic. But I am back with I was thinking on after writing more of my book. I know we will have Freeholds, and they will be setup to how we picture them. So.............having said that, I was remembering back to my days of playing SWG. That's Star Wars Galaxies to everyone who is going what is SWG.
Anyway, back then we had player entertainers, and from time to time we as entertainers would play and sing in a band in the bars. Believe it or not that was some fun social interaction. Playing music, watching the dancers, and even a singer or too. Wasn't perfect, but het it was still fun.
Now in AOC, we will have bards correct? So, if we have Bards, I am hoping we will have something like if not better than what I seen in SWG. Picture the Bards singing and playing music, and if you have a few of them maybe let them work as a full band. If this is planned already great, if not please make it so.
Now with the freeholds in play for players, I would love to see something in place that lets us hire Bards to play at our player controlled Inns and or Pubs. Sure they can just walk in and play I guess, but I am thinking about having a contract offered by owners to play, and after they are done maybe they gain XP from it. Based on the level of enjoyment from the NPCs, or if they don't make a lot of mistakes while playing the music, they will gain XP based on how they play.
What do you guys think of this idea?

Imagine the types of taverns you could set up:
Putting your siren abilities to work for tips huh?
Lol
Wow, I saw your title and was immediately taken back to the days of SWG. Was headed in here to post about my experiences with SWG's major city cantinas and laughed because you beat me to it.
The city cantinas were always packed full of players hanging out socializing, listening to the music, watching the dancers for buffs. It was an amazing time for how simple it was. The cities were always alive to due this feature, well that, and the long lines for doctor buffs. Sadly, when player owned cities/cantinas became available the major city hubs and their cantinas turned into ghost towns.
I think a similar idea would be amazing to have in AoC. I just hope if they do implement something like that, that something doesn't come along in game to take away from players gathering together like player owned cities did with SWG.

Oh lord, that sounds like something done in those warrior towns. haha
I wonder if we'll get RP instruments to play with in groups, or only be able to play sounds when we use an ability.
Absolutely! It's the one benefit of the class!

As soon as I saw the title I knew I would see talk of SWG here.
I was introduced to SWG by a friend that was the dancer class and she had her own cantina in our city.
I loved that game and would be very happy if AOC had a similar idea by which you could earn buffs from watching entertainers in taverns.
I don't think it should be only bards that can play, though I do think perhaps only bards could buff players with their music.
I recently had a small amount of time in FF14 and heard players playing music in the main communal area.
It would be nice if AOC allowed players to learn actual pieces of music. If a group of three or four friends then learnt the same piece then they could perform as a band.
I haven't really thought too heavily about the method by which this could be accomplished, but perhaps some method by which you can assign experience to learn, or accomplished by finding music in the world or through a bard's guild.
The music could be written by Bear McCreary (the game's composer) as well as being famous real world folk tunes.
As for how one could play in a tavern, well I could take heavy inspiration here from the works of Robin Hobb. In her Realm of the Elderlings books bards are afforded great respect. They are witnesses to events and a bard's word is proof. They are also treasured guests in a person's home and afforded care for all their lives.
I would love to see AOC develop a similar system whereby a bard that enters a player owned tavern and offers to sing or play would be welcome to tree board and food etc.
I am sure it would be a complicated system to add so what we see is anyone's guess. I know the plan is to make taverns important though. We already know they will host games.
I can't wait to see the full import of player taverns.
One of the stretch goals on the Kickstarter was parlor games. I'd assume they'll have some typical casino type games and Magic style card games. What I think would be cool is if in metropolis cities they had a arena type fight pit for dueling for prizes while everyone in the Tavern can watch.
Tbh tho, playing a lute well should give buffs to everyone if you do it well... like a minigame
