From Discord:
Greetings Glorious Ashes friends,
I have asked my community team to move the December live stream from tomorrow to Thursday December 23rd, at 11am Pacific.
We have an important announcement to make regarding an integral component of the development for Ashes of Creation, and this announcement requires a little more time before presenting to the community. I look forward to seeing you all next Thursday for our December end of year live stream.
Hope you are all keep safe, and enjoying the holiday season!

I dunno, could be something related to combat or nodes, maybe UE5, maybe a race or class but those two don't seem like they'd warrant the announcement Steven made.
But hey, what ever.
It might simply be stuff we already know will come and they are now ready to show.
I could be a new dev too, sure, but the wording makes me think it's some tech they want to show off.
Here is mine:
"We are dropping action combat in favor of pure tab-target. We feel like it is too complex to make both combat systems work together in a way that will make the entire community happy. We think that this makes the most sense for Ashes going forward, and we hope that all of our action combat fans will give the tab-target combat system a chance and even come to love it"-Future Steven (maybe)

Dude...
They could just put all the racial options on Tulnar...
Just make your Tulnar short and have a beard... Dwarfnar.

Elfnar is no deal
You take that back!
Suffertron is more like it.

Node guards auto aggro Tulnar?
Delayed coz they're deciding how brutal the guards should be?

To be fair, his Star Trek outfits are very cool, and I'd be excited to see a new one! Hahaha
It was always going to be, let's be realistic.
They are finally deciding to add p2w to the shop pog pog poggers.
/joke
As for a "serious" guess, I am assuming that orcs and tulnar needed a bit more baking to be ready. That or they are adding in the intended version of gathering as well as crafting.
It has been a while since they have shown us something beyond a simulator, mount or objects. We still have only seen 3 base classes. This game has a lot of classes in it to still be at 3 base classes. It would also be nice to see some of the Post 15 content in a game that goes to 50th. The crafting/gathering system in place would be a sign of progress as well.
In short, I would be a bit disappointed for the announcement to be something like "We hired more people". At this point I want to see what the people have been doing.
I doubt it's combat because just last month they spoke about how they're discussing internally what to do with it and I doubt they have anything to show us after only a month.
So yeah, I think it's them announcing the upgrade to UE5.

The only way I’d be happy with UE5 at this stage of development is if they determined that a critical feature is either only possible with UE5, or will be implemented faster with UE5. In which case the delay is a wash. It would still be bad news though.
