How far along are Cryogenics? Can we freeze ourselves, until launch?

Not sure anyone born past the year 2000 will get it:

I'd also be willing to accept NECROMANCY as an alternative - since the wait is killing me, and I'm going to play AoC like a freakin' zombie once it comes out, anyways....

Work hard for 2-3 years. Then quit your job and play AoC 24/7 when it releases. Why go full frozen throne?

Yes. You can be frozen solid. No guarantees that you'll be alive when you thaw though. Dibs on your gold.

The best I can do is make you an intangible shadow creature that most likely can't even make noise to communicate but you can at least do shadow puppets.

So we got cryogenesis, some crazy off shoot reality where anyone can make money with elbow grease and totally no luck involve to quit working, and 'intangible shadow creatures'.

I'll add 'can we just let me be an immortal cyborg already' to this pot of things to use to survive till release.

Freeze yourself now, they'll have figured out the defrosting process well before the game launches.

Yup - I'm avoiding getting sucked into another game until this alpha thing starts and my basement has never looked better.....

OMG.... It's May now and cryo-freezing ***STILL*** isn't a thing!

/Pass on all other MMO's out there, even now. Started to poke at learning UE5, but none of my computers can handle it, very well. Will have to buy a pricey one, right before AoC launches.

Just gotta hang in there till Q4. That's when the real mmo fun starts this year. A bunch of releases and announcements should have come out by then. I'm sure Ashes has a thing or two up their sleeve for then as well depending how well hiring goes.

When I first started following Ashes I was worried I wouldn't be able to play much because I had young kids.

Now I realize it's all good b/c I'll have plenty of time to play in retirement.

Anyway, I'd rather them take the time to do it right, but still.

Yes. Your kids will have kids of their own by the time Ashes launches!

This just gives me flashbacks to Flight of the Conchords. If kids are having kids, and those kids are having kids, eventually, the kids are going to be far too small.

Sadly the problems with cryogenics is that the damage occurs during the initial freezing and not defrosting - basically the water molecules create crystals that irreversibly cut your cells

You don't have to worry about it. If you pass on, we can just get @Nagash to rez you. You may be magically bound though, so you takes your chances there.

A question I'd never ask myself as I'd rather live through all that in a tricked out cyborg body. The real question is @Atama points out. Is a cyborg filed under 'bot' under Intrepid's anti-bot policies or will they be pro-transhumanism (the right side of history.) I'm sure they'll have at least a few decades or so to work that out while the tech gets up to spec in time for Alpha 2.

Do we know how long the transition to unreal 6 is going to take?
