I appreciate that the caveat with store items is that they're put up for limited sale, and then they're gone. The problem, of course, coupled with the price, is that it's not always affordable to get them when they're available, and then the opportunity goes.
Personally, I missed out on the "protector armour", the sanctuary, and various other bits and bobs that appeared with that pack. I could only afford the PAX stuff that was available at the same time.
What I propose is something that still limits the availability of such items, but at least opens the up the possibility for those who are after very specific items to get them again, without Steve contravening what he said about their appearing on the store again.

If players can trade these items with each other, it hopefully can mean some of us can get hold of specific items/packs again.
Curious to know what others think about this.

Not going to happen ever. Leads to RMT and other practices that have already been ruled out several times by Intrepid.

Going to have to say "no" also.

As others have pointed out, they don't want to do this since it makes it easy for people to trade purchased items for in-game items/gold. You ask someone to gift you an item from the gift shop and then trade them gold.

My advice is to wait for the game to come out, see what's available, and leave feedback on anything you would like to see.

If following this game, or games in general, has taught me anything, something better always comes.

This post has won the "Worst Idea for Ashes of Creation Award"!!!

There is no cash prize, and this award is not an honor.

Trading them in game gold? Screw that, if they implemented that I would be selling my limited edition stuff that people missed out on for cash. Traded to you in game after receipt on Paypal. That is why it is never going to happen.

Horrible idea that would lead to horrible gaming.

The gold seller sites would have a field-day with this. I can see the spam already " rare xxx for trade ... ", this would make AoC a real money hot spot and the game would be further infected with gold spammers.

This is asking for pay to win. Spend cash on cosmetics, trade in-game for better gear and/or gold which you use to buy better gear. It’s the antithesis of everything they’re trying to do with this game.

Not going to ever happen, which is a good thing.

"No" to being able to trade purchased items from the cash store. Whilst nice in sentiment, I disagree.

In part, the cosmetic sales are a means to provide a secondary revenue stream for the game developers thereby enabling subscription prices to remain lower.

I would imagine if an item that was purchasable, later became tradeable then it might lead to possibly fewer sales and ultimately require a reconsideration of the subscription price.

The proposed subscription cost is currently low, which hopefully means it is more accessible and more people will consider it.. Let us leave it at that.

That being said, if they could be on sold and the revenue went back to the developers and there were some restraints on the on sold item, then perhaps that might be a way.. ie original sale is at full 100% and is dyable.. but on selling can be sold at 70% of original retail cost.. with say 20% going to the seller.. and the re-sold item can only be sold once and is fixed with what ever dye the seller made.

In regards to this, do we want a game that has no sanctioned RMT, or do we want a game that has little sanctioned RMT?

    Because this *is* sanctioned RMT.

Um... No. Wrong thread. Join one of the other useless "no cosmetic store" threads.

Just thinking out loud, but not Player to Player but sold back

Not this thread, but I would be happy to pay a higher sub to never have to pay for cosmetics.
Also not really for RMT between players. I see the sale of cosmetics more as a means for gold purchasing..not sure why else to buy and then re-sell

That being said, could a workaround be players sell back to the store and the store then re-sell`s second hand. cosmetics?

Then no player to player transactions?

You never have to pay for cosmetics, because you don't have to have them. You may want them, but you don't have to buy them, so you don't need to pay for them.

As would I, but that game is not this game.

I'm not keen on the idea of selling items back to Intrepid who can then on-sell them.

If Intrepid say that they will only sell an item for a limited time, they should only sell it for a limited time.

Having players sell that item back to Intrepid so that they can sell it again is not selling it for a limited time.

Basically, the store is the store.

Second-hand cosmetics? What, cos the trim of the hood is coming loose, or there's a slight wearing on the sleeve where the previous owner kept using it to wipe his nose? I'm pretty sure that digital cosmetics don't work like that.

I wish there was a "Steam Market" for Cash Shop items, but definitely no in-game trading as in "a skin for 10 gold".
