I am bored, forums post are slow and content is drier than the Sahara. What's got you excited about AOC recently?
-We just got animal husbandry details
-Mounts are looking cool as always
-Perhaps their optimization regarding the 250v250 siege battles we saw many months ago?
-Caravan systems seem like they have gnarly potential maybe the guild v guild v guild conflicts that are sure to arise from caravans?
-What do you think about an alliance guild helping in a siege and potentially ending up stealing the castle from their alliance member?
-Crafting and gathering looks like it might have a lot of potential has anything drawn your eye in particular?
-Combat, Tab targeting hybrid system seems ambitious, is it to ambitious? Their certainly a fine line between failure and success potential for it, what do you think?
-AOC certainly has a lot on it's plate, what are your thought regarding their ability to deliver? Seems like so far they have tried to be transparent in a world where transparency can certainly be punishing.
Load me up with AOC opinions because I want to read them all because I am way to excited for a game that is a ways away from releasing even the A2.

Not 'something I haven't seen before in a fantasy MMO' or 'something I haven't seen before in the exact way Ashes does it'.
Otherwise it's not really all that hype? Their 'marketing' of Ashes worked on me because it sounded like 'we're gonna take the best we can from everything and make the ultimate MMO' and I believe that they might do that, but that would be moreso 'a perfect polished experience at the end'. Games that 'slowly refine a genre into perfection' don't look super cool during the development stages unless they find something really special, and Ashes doesn't have 'really special' yet, so this phase is just a quiet one.
Fair enough. So far I didn't enjoy Ashes sieges more than FFXI Besieged (even considering Ashes was PvP and FFXI Besieged is more like a really good PvE one) but obviously that was Alpha. That's my point though. It's too early in development for me to say 'This is better than the game I already play!' and that's fine, they should take their time and make it really worth it.
It's just not something to be hype about yet unless you're confident that it WILL be better than the sieges in games already available. I've played '400 vs 200' (400 Players is the cap in the zone FFXI uses for its 'Siege') and while it obviously had all the technical limitations you'd expect in 2011 or whatever, it's just not new to me.
Be back soon.
I know that many consider that I am a White Kinght, well, I can not deny it (LMFAO), but precisely the reason why I am that, it is because I see the effort, improvement and growth of intrepid team and AOC.
Could be the white knight of NW or Blizzard, but I want to know that money does not buy greatness, effort and overcoming, the intrepid team is fighting, seeing ways to try to improve gender, be different and innovative, so I want to continue seeing the growth of Intrepid and AOC.
The effort, audacity and innovation that try to use is what catches me.
Don't ever apologize Viajero, your memes keep us all moving forward.
HE LIVES!!! 💀
He explicitly does not... I think.
Skull emoji notwithstanding.
Oh you know you could never get rid of me
Does the undead really live?
I live everyday like its my last and let me tell you I live in so much fear
I don't even expect level 5 nodes to be ready by Alpha 2 release, I expect us to get level 5 nodes a couple of months into A2, and then get metropolis nodes in Beta 1. The amount of environmental art that has to be created for both generic node designs and environment-specific designs must be overwhelming for the staff.
I'm hoping that the node system will allow me and my friends to carve out our corner of the world, instead of feeling like we have to compete with the best of the best.
1: Nagash has been resurrected.
2: New player race models.
It's aliiiive!!! ....... Sort of...
I feel bad for the content creators out there because there has been nothing to talk about and discuss with the community. It seems that everyone will just have to wait until Alpha 2 drops, which could be 6 or more months, until we have something interesting to talk about.
This is my personal opinion here, and Steven has talked about this many times, but I don't really care about a character creator. The game isn't even releasing for 2 or more years probably, that feels like something I would care more about at release. In most games I just go for generic look anyways, it's all about the gameplay for me.
I would still lower my expectations because that 100+ staff all have different jobs, and aren't all just focused on node development.
Something I've also gotten excited for recently, is the underwater combat and underwater exploration. Want to start seeing that in Alpha 2.
My gaming group have been salivating about the idea of wandering off and working up some distant node in the corner of the map and see who decides to join in around that area but after reading about nodes it seems like you are heavily Incentivized to just be a citizen of the largest node (with node type as a factor as well ofc). Not super keen if this is how the node meta will play out with developed nodes giving exclusive and strong benefits. Will see in A2 I guess.
