Ashes of Creation MMO - What are Monster Coins and are they Pay to Win?

In this week's episode, I aim to answer the question of "What are Monster Coins in the Ashes of Creation MMO?" & "Do these Monster Coins make Ashes of Creation pay to Win?"
In this video, I'll review - What are monster coins? How do you obtain them? What are the rewards? How does the system progress? How will it affect PvP? And will this be in Ashes of Creation Alpha 2?

from my understanding there a rare drop that then allows you to become a monster during a mob invasion event on a node or what not.
Secretly make pve players pvp cause the mob they might be fighting is a player dadadaaaa

So no clue how that would ever be pay to win at all

yeah, i would agree with the above and if you watch the video you will see me say this but i did get a good comment on my video which made me think a lot deeper into how this system will work and how it looks to the newcomers and outside perspective which is why I really jumped into this one and give some fairly decent information and stated my opinion on it.
seems many still think it could class as pay to win but in my eyes, I think we are fairly safe that it is not.

I feel like after talking to a lot of people and seeing certain comments that yes it is not p2w (as Azrials video does explain if you watched it) but it is a bit pay to experience (due to us not yet knowing the drop rate) as people who can't get on to grind will have the fear of missing out and may feel like they need to buy them. Until we see it in action and see the drop rates though this is all speculation. Also although Jahlon has made a decent video (and makes a lot of other good videos on ashes topics) on it a lot of people who are new to the game won't want to search back through the sea of videos he and other content creators have made, and as new information comes out videos become outdated it's good for other content creators to make videos on topics as it brings attention to the game and the cool systems they have continuously through out development. You wouldn't expect with wow or FFXIV (other MMOs are available) only one content creator to make a video on a certain topic so why would ashes be any different.

yeah, I can't remember this one but for sure seen it in the past, but I will still be making videos regardless of who else has covered certain topics before and stating my views and opinion on it in my video style.

They're not in my eyes the video goes through all this, but some people do have valid points about it so i made the best effort to make a video explaining it rather than jumping down their throats and kind of highlighting their misunderstanding of the system and dropping a little bit of info.

Freeholds have a serious chance to Threaten other MMO housing because of the practical in-game use.

yeah I tried to get some good info out there this week and keep it as entertaining as possible Freeholds and animal husbandry are the two things I cant wait for.

As nice as the idea is to have freeholds in the open territory near a node hub, I believe the result will be de-centralizing the populations and the node towns/cities/metropolises may not have the resultant player presence/activity to correspond with their importance.

Having these included within the town and reasons for freeholds users to go to and from utilities and vendors within the town would only increase the vibrance of the cities.

I thought that all freeholds would be related to the nearby node, since owning a freehold qualifies you for node citizenship. So even though you may be outside the city walls, you are still connected to the node economically (and activities in and around the freehold count towards levelling up the node).

I understand your point but if people are looking for in-node utilities there are going to be some depending on what the mayor builds such as armouries and blacksmiths and there will be a lot of other reasons to visit the node such as gaining new quests and in world events were the node will need to be defended so i don't think population within the node will be an issue. If all freeholds were built within the node it would just end up becoming cluttered and due to people having various freeholds skins it would just mess with the node aesthetic meaning it would break immersion for some people as the node will have the aesthetic of whichever race has put in the most effort to level that node up (this can change after every level up i.e during stage it could be a Py'Rai Village then it could be a stage 4 Kaelar Town).

You are correct, All freeholds do link back to their parent node which is where you get the certificate to be able to place your node, it will also have to be placed in the ZOI of the parent node you won't be able to place it randomly and therefore the activities and such you perform in and around the freehold will all link back to the nodes experience and economy as tax for you selling stuff will also link back to the node.

So today I'm going to jump into the TOP reasons why small guilds could Succeed in Ashes of Creations PvP depending on the situation. A lot of MMOs have turned into zerg only games but I want to jump into why this isn't going to be the case and why even as a small guild of 30-50 players you can do well in sieges and open-world PvP.In this video, ill be covering what are the benefits of being a smaller guild? Ashes of Creation has 9 playable races, these are made up of 5 primary races, 4 of which are split into 2 subraces each. In this video, I will let you know all about the lore that currently surrounds these races and show you the character models and art we currently have for them. We're going to jump into what are the Aela, Dunzenkell, Kaivek and Pyrian? Which are the dwarves, elves, humans and orcs? What is the most secretive race that they have yet to reveal? I will be discussing the gameplay and how PvP will work within Ashes of Creation & explaining how this MMO will be different from other MMOs in the genre. Guild wars are one of the PvP systems that will be in the MMO Ashes of Creation they only occur during the server's prime time. There will be a PvP ranking system and this is one of the systems that will increase your rank depending on your success within the game mode.

The Naval system in Ashes of Creation is going to be a very complex gameplay system and I will be explaining to you the most important information that will help you understand just how it will work in this MMO. Ships in Ashes of Creation are going to be key for jumping into the Naval Content. I will explain to you the most important information that will help you understand how I think they will work in this MMO. A lot of MMOs include Naval gameplay and I think Ashes of Creation is looking to have one of the most interesting takes on the system. I can't wait to test it out in ALPHA 2 as we know which systems they are hoping to have in place.

Bounty Hunters are a key system in Ashes of Creation and I'll be explaining all the important information and explaining exactly why you'll want to be a bounty hunter. Corruption is an important discussion and needs to be talked about as it's a key system to balancing PvP in Ashes of Creation. I am explaining the current information we have on the corruption system to help you understand how it currently works and giving my opinion on what I think could be changed to make it much more interesting and in-depth, as I'm currently not sure whether there is any point going corrupt in Ashes of Creation other than to exploit certain systems.

Animal Husbandry is going to be one of the most important systems in the Ashes of Creation MMORPG for getting the best mounts which are going to be key in this MMO if you are looking to be one of the best players in the game. This system is beyond perfect and is going to be integral for both PvE and PvP, I aim to explain what we currently know about the Animal husbandry system so that you will understand how it will work based on what we know while also giving you my opinion on any improvements and how it relates to other games and there breeding systems. I think it is a really interesting system and I can't wait to explore it in Alpha 2.
