Belly button in wrong spot :)

Howdy! I love the character creator, but I have some constructive criticism about the character models. I guess this is a bit nit-picky, but I am an anatomist and noticed that the belly button is in the wrong spot. It's way too low on the belly. Below is a comparative figure I created to illustrate this point. The belly button in humans is typically in the middle of the 3rd row of abs (rectus abdominis), or at the very bottom of that 3rd row (model on the far right of the image), but in your character model (left in the image) the belly button is much lower, in the middle of a fourth row of abs, which is clearly not anatomically correct.

And as a side note those pecs also look a bit off, too flat for someone who is fairly fit and muscular, but I suppose that can be adjusted with the sliders. I am not so sure about the belly button though, so please make sure that you place it correctly from the start.

It IS nit picky, but I really love this comment for the attention to detail.

Of course, the belly button on dwarves is perfectly placed for our nine pack. 🤯

The normal anatomical position of the umbilicus (belly button) is even with the top of the iliac crests (the hip bone). With a traditional abdominoplasty the belly button should remain in this location.

I guess those characters had high hip bones!

When talking about Dwarves, its either a 6 or 12 pack.

That is another way to look at it, useful to find the position of the belly button when there is no 6 pack visible.
If we connect the top of the hips on left and right sides we get the green line in the figure below. This again shows that the human male character model on the left has a belly button that is way too low.

Why must the anatomy of 'humans' in a fantasy game be identical to the anatomy of humans in the real world? If we accept orcs and elves and even tulnar as creatures, cannot we accept humans with mild differences.

    However, very good catch OP!

Well, I think humans should look like humans, if we want to create a sub-race with the belly button in a different place I am all for it, but let's also have normal-looking humans.

    Why not fix it?

If you look at the cosmetics for this month, specifically the potato spud pet, it's belly button is in the wrong spot, too. Must be a thing for one of the artists.

Haha I thought something looked really off around the belly area :D

I hope they fix this, it looks weird.

But if you 'accidentally' go too low, you're just playing with yourself.

So you are also ok uneven numbers of fingers as the default? Universally flat or endowed chests regardless of gender? How about we have the nose down to the throat instead or no nose at all. These are alien fantasy creatures after all so getting close to irl proportions shouldn't bother you right? If your response is 'those wouldn't be aesthetically pleasing to me!' Now you know what feeling the belly button being wrong is for some people. If you still don't have a negative reaction. Congratulations! You are rare creature indeed. Huzzah for humans diversity of the mind! No snark no sarc. It's cool to know people like that exist.

The exchange you are questioning was not directly related to the original topic but was an off-color response to @daveywavey's off-color comment.

I feel there is some over-reaction to the brief remarks traded.

Sarcasm is difficult to detect on the internet. You have my apology of politeness.
