My question is will the mobs of Vera have an adaptable AI? Example: when pulling a group of monsters that have different combat abilities will the AI have a static strategy or will it be adaptive to the combat style and tactics of the player/players fighting them. Say if one mob is a tank another is a mage, will the tank mob try to get in-between be and the mage to protect the mage? Ide really like to see the AI be adaptive to the current situation both positioning and ability wise.

AI for sure needs to go beyond just a battle of who can bludgeon who faster, I would go even so far as to say that it should depend on the creature, from a design standpoint would probably be good to have classifications like berserker, coward, tactician, etc. And then you can design the AI for those mobs with that in mind even if it's generic with 5 different kinds of AI it would still be a far bigger variety than 99% of MMOs right now.
You could take this a step further and design certain mobs around being hard to catch and their first/only reaction is to run but they have something special as loot if you do manage to get them.
Having mobs that have a chance at running away when low on HP or when a pack is culled to about 1/3rd, I will admit this would be annoying but it would be part of the experience and it would make the world feel more alive.
Berserkers could be a classification of mobs that gain a boost on conditions like HP dropped to 1/2 or a certain ally is hit, etc.
Tacticians can be mobs that work as a group to gain advantages in certain scenarios like if they surround someone or they could have attacks they perform but it requires a certain number of them meaning that splitting them up is the best way to fight them.
TLDR: please please please for all that is good do more with the AI than just a death battle.

Seeing some pack tactics from mobs would be great, calling in nearby allies for help, surrounding you. That's some real immersive combat right there!
