Questing ideas (Open Discussion)

Okay so from what we know so far its almost like a race to develop society right so that way its not as perilous to adventure right? The events and story are triggered by that, so what if in the guild hall (or tavern) there's something like a leaderboard of the most accomplished adventurers from the server? Like accolade or experience point wise to kind of drive players to get out there and search for the story?

Additionally, career progression quests. Career path related quests, such as if you're a weaponsmith, say that to progress a bit you get approached by someone from some other ZOI (NPC) to ask you to make a specific type of weapon. Another cool thing relating to lore as like a science node quest which is in the pursuit of knowledge, have players search for pieces of lore of the lost world in dungeon/hard to get areas that might also come with unique/hard to get equipment stylized as old world gear from the various races.

Then time/reactionary quests that build resentment towards a player or ZOI such as a quest to save a kidnapped child, and if you don't save the child in a timely manner the child is killed and the NPC builds a grudge against you, and maybe that NPC then has resentment towards the township/adventurers and lures monsters to the village to wreak havoc. Node type quests like science node related to the pursuit of knowledge/lore/magic, economic node, more merchant/supply chain quests, military node, peacekeeping quests/monster management etc, that would be cool as well.

Time killing quests are also sometimes a hit with players as well that give you somewhat nothing but a silly title and novel item, like a fishing quest, but every fish you catch, you have to release back, for like 25 times in a row. And once you complete it you get a silly title like “catch and release” and you get a fancy little fishing rod. Also it would be cool to see a quest that seems minor on the surface, like rescuing a lost kitten mission that snowballs into a dungeon crawl and at the end you have to fight a chimera or something like that. At the end you get a pretty armor set call the lions bane or something along those lines with a title akin to "wolf in sheep's clothing."

Just some basic ideas i came up with for quests. I will be posting any additional ideas i have for quests in the comments on this thread, and i encourage other players/community members to do the same.

This seems like a good idea to solve the problem a lot of MMO’s have of repetitive mob slashing quests. It adds some level of diversity to questing. Additionally puzzle quests would be a good thing to add as well to sort of throw a wrench in things, or even making a puzzle quest that requires at least one player of each base class to unlock, maybe even opening up a raid boss arena and triggering an in game event. This is all theoretical of course.

What if… and hear me out, to reach a mastery in a career path say as a scribe, you had to do something like enchant a legendary weapon. Do you think this would be a viable option so that it would kind of make it like an elite class that’s hard for the average player to attain, but also make it sort of like a milestone that the average player aspires to reach?

That may isolate too many players.

So say, once the world government is established, a way to further the storyline and a way to increase player involvement in areas. Have the heads of each of the fifths of the world disseminate quests through the guild hall/tavern system, to go and check things out in certain areas. Like each guild's particular area, and if need be ally several smaller guilds together to collaborate and increase player involvement.

This is a great idea and would keep players constantly involved and not make players feel left out!

Fun challenge from the discord to start a quest by killing 6 boars and ending by ruling a domain in hell. lol Was a fun 20ish minutes.

Quest 1: Saving a child. You encounter a little boy lost in the woods surrounded by wild boars. You must save the little boy before the boys end his life. Objective: Kill 6 boars. Reward: Boar Hide, Boar Meat

Quest 2: Feeding the poor. The little boy thanks you for saving him and tells you not to let the boar meat go to waste. His family is located in -insert node- and would appreciate if you could bring the meat to his father, a butcher. Objective: Deliver boar meat. Reward: Stat Food.

Quest 3: A friend of the family. The butcher comments on the boar hide you acquired and suggests bringing it to a friend of his, a leather worker. He might be able to do something with it. Objective: Deliver Boar Hide. Reward: Leather Armor

Quest 4: The forest is changing. After crafting your armor, the leather worker comments that there has been a fair amount of work for him lately, in particular crafting boar leather armor. It seems like a boon for him, but is making the forest a more dangerous place. He requests for you to investigate what is causing such a high population of aggressive boars. Objective: Locate the cause of the high boar population. Reward: Dungeon Entrance

Quest 5: Boars to Doors. Finding an odd circle of stones deep in the forest you are suddenly attacked by a massive boar that doesn't appear natural. (Mini Boss) Objective: Kill Pig Iron Reward: Leather Gear drop, Corrupted Tusks, Dungeon Gate Opens.

Quest 6: Down we Go. Passing the guard beast and following the odd tunnel that was hidden below the stone circle you delve into a dungeon to learn more about what is twisting the forest. After fighting your way through more and more frightening aspects of what use to be mundane forest creatures, you discover the Well of Crystal. Guarding it is a dark shaman wearing the head dress of a dead swine. They curse you for for your invasion and swears they'll bring about the glorious end to the lush green world above. Objective: Slay the Lord of the Flies and destroy the Corrupted Well. Reward: Emote that plays "War Pigs" riff, a piece of blue Leather Armor, and an Ancient Rune.

Quest 7: Be wary of travellers. On your way back to -insert node- an odd traveller stops you on the road and asks you about a Rune they can tell you are carrying. They tell you that it's not meant for this world and should be returned. You learn of a wizard who specializes in such arts and it is suggested you should bring it to them. If you accept: Objective: Deliver Rune. If you refuse: The traveller attacks you and gain the quest to investigate the wizard. Either or off you go. Reward: A long walk.

Quest 8: Here there be Monsters: The trip leads you to an abandoned tower that's over run with corrupted enemies. Your objective lays within. You may need friends to hack your way through. After making it to the Wizard you learn that infact they are evil and are trying to trying to summon a creature from a different plane. Objective: Defeat the Wizard Reward: Rare spell/ability.

Quest 9: Unwanted Guests. The rune however reacts poorly being so close to the wizards experiment and a rift opens. You are compelled to enter if you dare. You chose yes, because hero stuff and are teleported into a pocket dimension that floats within chaotic space. There awaits the creature the wizard was attempting to summon. A legionnaire of the hellish outter realms. Objective: Defeat the legionnaire Reward: A blue Weapon and the ability to transverse between chaos realm and the prime material.

You find the quest. Objective: Travel to the town of Dawkness. Reward: Unlock local quest options.

Quest 12: An annoying Evil. The quest board gives you the option to hunt down and slay a Boar Devil that's been causing trouble for a local Overlord. Feeling like it's probably its fault you got in this mess in the first place you accept the quest. Objective: Kill Porkturbo the Wretched. Reward: Major Soul Orb

Quest 13: You like Farming? After killing Porkturbo the local Overlord approaches you and thanks you for being the new badass on the block.
