Content

Hi there.

My post is a question about the content and how servers can each have their own stories and be different.

My main question I want to ask is, will there be content created for this game that could potentially never be played? I’m not an avid follower of the game, so please correct me if my question seems stupid.

From what I understand, the different nodes create the different experiences on each server? So a military node will have different events or quests lines than a religious node, just as an example. What if players on every server just happen to decide that religious nodes are inferior or it just doesn’t appeal to people as much as other nodes so no one ends up choosing this node. Would the content created for the religious node that the team worked on just not be playable? (Again, just using this as an example, I’m sure many people like the religious node aspect, just had to use something). All the time invested in making content for it would kind of be wasted.

Also another smaller question. Are there preset nodes around the map that already have decided categories? Like is there a military node or religious node automatically on each server in preset locations, or is it up to the players to decide whatever the node is?

Hope to hear back from everyone and get some answers to my silly questions. Thank you and be safe.

It is possible to have content that is never experienced on a particular server, but there are other ways to introduce the content if it is just 'tied to a particular level of node'.

Node types are static and decided backend by the developers, so, yes, they are presets.

    Yes, potentially.

Unless all the servers across the world follow literally the same path of node development, I'd say that kind of situation is impossible. Now obviously you as a player will definitely not experience all of the content that the game will have, and you'll have to come to terms with that.

But on the grander scale, I'd bet all content will be experienced by at least someone. And then that person can tell others about that content and, if others are interested in it, they can work together to develop the node that provides that content. And that's the potential fun of the node system (at least as far as I understand it).

I hope they add so much content that no server can experience it all pretty much. It keeps things fresh and interesting for longer.

Node types are static, but how the Node type affects the region depends on the dominant race at each Stage and also which buildings the government chooses to construct.
And there is also interplay between other Nodes across the world - what Stages they are at, the dominant races and which buildings are constructed there.

So... lots of presets but many ways for those presets to unlock and on some servers may never unlock.

Probably every server will have some Religious Nodes progress - at least to early Stages. I would expect every server to have at least one Religious Village. I expect several servers to not have a Religious Metro. Several servers may not have Religious Cities - but I'm not sure what the server cap is for total number of Cities.
