the mage augments

Idk if it was just me but when i learned about the augment system i figured that the mage augments would be ice, fire, lightning, and pure magic and not teleportation. Now maybe this is just something that im worried about that will be put to rest when the game gets to the point where you can use augments but personally as a darksouls magic fan i personally love the look of just pure magic sorcery and especially crystal sorceries from those games and elden ring especially and feel like either the mage needs a 5th augment since mage as a secondary augment feels like it should encompass a lot anyways with how varried magic almost always is or the teleporation augment should be canned or merged with something like a magic sorcery that would do something like make your fireball spell become a magic missile or maybe make the prismatic beam turn into a like gatling gun of magic crystals like crystal torrent in elden ring.

Honestly this is really just me perfering my builds to have some level of coherency rather than being the combination of like 50 different things and me liking magic in games and as mentioned, pure magic like in soulsborne games and really just the fact that it feels weird as all hell that the MAGE doesnt let you augment your abilities with pure MAGIC but only elemental stuff and than a weird as i guess spatial change which is kinda a element if you consider the warping of space time a element like the others.

    I'm not absolutely sure about this, but I THINK it was indicated that we 'misunderstood' some quote.

    It's not that the Augments are '1- Fire', '2- Ice', '3-Lightining', '4-Teleportation'.

    It's that 'Elemental' is one Augment, and the Fire, Ice, and Lightning, were examples. We just don't know the other two Mage Augments.

    I cannot confirm this absolutely without a big dive into old content and I might be the one that misunderstood some OTHER quote, but I invite you to join me in my potentially fantasy world where we get more than 'three elements and a blink'.

    OP is correct.

    There's going to be four schools of augmentation for each archetype. One of the schools for the mage is the teleport school...– Steven Sharif

    Each secondary archetype offers four different schools of augmentation.[20][23] Each augment school affects a primary archetype's skills in different ways.[24]
    For example: A Mage offers Teleportation and elemental schools of augments.

    It does seem odd to have a teleportation school since that sounds like more than just one movement skill; but, I'm personally going to withhold judgement until I see where they are going with it.

    Note, The final schools may not be totally locked as Steven did name light, darkness, and planar as other possible augmentation schools in PAX 2018.

    One of the schools is Teleportation. I think Black Hole might be there, along with Blink.
    One of the Schools is Elemental. That covers Ice, Fire, Lightning, etc in one School.
    Steven hasn't shared the ther two Schools, yet.

    In the PAX 2018 vid, Steven seems to be placing Light, Darkness and Planar all under the Elemental School.
    But, difficult to tell because that was before Steven had mentioned Schools.

    Augments and schools will remain in tact. Only the base will be firmed for all classes.

    ahhhh i see.... well if thats the case than that would be interesting and i would definantly approve mage having a lot of different ways it augments stuff cause i do love all forms of magic sooooo sweet i guess

    XD why do i always respond immeadeatly after each comment i read XD well either way i still hope that there is some form of pure magic augment cause i would like havin good old classic darksouls lookin magic in a badass mmo like this.

    I would rather place movement abilities on directional buttons than waste a base skill slot. Teleporation is a movement skill. Of course, charges will have augments too.

    I do not know all augment sources and schools yet. Each source will have 20 augments available to match the base rosters.

    It will be possible to create classes from classes within classes. The hybrids will be equal to the pure bases. Such can be achieved when you build balance at the engine core before the rest of combat.
