Greetings Ashes of Creation community! A Happy belated Mother's Day to all whom celebrated this past Sunday, and we are now mid way through the month of May!
House Calderon continues to strive for excellence as we build up our story line, have frequent gaming sessions, and develop our characters for Ashes of Creation.
Food and Steel
We are happy to announce a change to House Calderon's focus and declare that House Calderon will focus as a guild on two specific trades: Agriculture and Blacksmithing. A majority of members are interested in Farming, Animal Husbandry, and Blacksmith Artisan classes for Ashes of Creation, thus we felt it only fair that we create a RP background that will encourage this. House Calderon will focus very deeply in the growing of food with rich farmland, livestock, taming and mining/processing of metal in family Smithies.
For backstory, House Calderon like our sigil, focused back in old Verra on taming winged beasts with a proud warrior history. During the war seasons, we traditionally prepare for great battles. However, during times of peace and harvest, our warriors will return to their lands and plant crops, raise animals, and hone the tools of war back home. We feel it is important to not only fuel this corner of our eventual server economy, but have a strong RP backstory that we can support through our continued RP.
Building Community
House Calderon isn't just looking for Soldiers for our Army, or future scholars and mages. We are looking for residents. Players looking to settle our land and unite under a common banner. This is taking shape today in Discord RP, as we build settlements and stories that shape our community in Sanctus that will eventually transfer to Verra come game. Above is the Village of Runswick, a common starting place for our Serfdom characters seeking a home for their start in our narrative.
Alt Characters
We have recently discussed our "Alt Character" policy, which we are keeping purposefully very vague. When you apply for House Calderon, you do as your main character. However, you're not restricted to just the main when you RP with us. Freely create alternative characters to express your writing and abilities in the guild. Future restrictions may be in place to allow Mains the priority of advancement in the narrative.
We hope you will take a chance to check us out at House Calderon. We are always looking for new members, and new friends as we continually prepare for game. Many of our players are playing daily, if not weekly different games. Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft are currently the big MMOs, while games like Overwatch and Barotrauma are a fan favorites.

The last week has been one of great change and activity for House Calderon. We've had a resurgence of activity with all our members taking part in guild polls, discussion, and ultimately making several big decisions that have altered our course. Let's get right into it!
Choosing a Game
House Calderon will soon be getting into a dedicated game where we will RP in. Our Discord RP is still a very committed endeavor with large amounts of posts daily across multiple channels. However, after a recent poll, the desire of our membership to play a game and RP within has become clear. HC Leadership is extremely transparent, so we put the choice in our members. We will have results of this out soon!
Game Night Expands!
House Calderon had done one dedicated Game Night, but this has expanded due to major popularity! Game Night is a time for us to be social, hang out in social, and just get to know our membership. Last week we played Among Us and it was a big hit!

Narrative: "Days have passed, as patrols were sent across the Land of the Cauldron to seek out bandits threatening the Village of Runswick. Returning to the Calderon Estate of Salhaven; Dasyra Calderon, half sister of Lord Riji Calderon, returns badly wounded with Ser Galvyr Goldengreen as her escort. A flurry of shock rises across the entire manor as the Calderon Family is recalled home, and riders sent to the remaining patrols. House Calderon's Castellan, 3rd Son; Cruxx Dior Calderon declares Salhaven to be locked down and the Men at Arms called up to respond. Healer Rex Tais begins to tend to Dasyra, as the Lord Commander; Alenduil Calderon, leader of House Calderon's Army returns home to the maddness. Lord Riji himself orders the remaining family members to be sought, and specifically asks for his Knight Commander, his youngest half brother; Ser Arontinir Calderon to be found to assemble a force to hit back at the enemy who appears to be another noble house to the east. Butler Mars and Staff of the House hurry to prepare for the assembled family, and the coming choice... Will it be peace, or will it be war?"

Welcome to Summer and Happy Pride Month. House Calderon has been working hard to welcome the summer season with an array of new initiatives.
Welcome to Conan Exiles - Sanctus RP
House Calderon spent the last weeks voting, and we have a winner. Seeking a game to Roleplay in, House Calderon membership overwhelmingly approved of playing Conan Exiles! One of our members being a long time server host and specialist in creating Conan Exiles RP servers, we are now in the process of a private server dedicated to our RP! No longer will our story be confined to only Discord RP, we will be building out a map to tell our story in Sanctus! The Server will be under construction for a time, but we're excited for the possibilities of a game to RP in.
MMO Adventures and Dedicated Gaming
House Calderon isn't only playing Conan Exiles. We have now dedicated to two MMOs and several games we now have a dedicated base of players in.
Black Desert Online and Elder Scrolls Online are the MMOs of choice, as we play together to practice PVP and questing content. Both games are getting big expansion level updates this month, and we're excited to play together! For more casual play, we now have a dedicated Overwatch 2 team and a weekly session playing Barotrauma on Fridays!
House Calderon gets pumped for Raids!
Did you enjoy the last dev stream? We sure did! The Cyclops World Boss got the guild amped for a good time! We will be meeting soon to fully discuss the stream and last month in our bi-monthly meetings. News is coming out that Alpha 2 keys may soon become limited, and we want to let the community know that if you still are looking for keys. We have members who do have avaiable A2 and Beta 1 & 2 keys.

Happy Anniversary to House Calderon as we officially celebrate 1 full year on the road to Ashes of Creation. This year has been a slow march forward. The goals of House Calderon were to get our base and foundation firm, and build something up for the hopeful game to come. We have a roster of 25 players now committed to the effort and dream that is House Calderon, with a few more still waiting for news of Alpha 2. We have a dedicated place in the Ashes Roleplay Community with 2 of our own becoming Moderators, helping build the ever expansive world that is Ashes RP. We have made friends along the way with a list of ambassadors from other guilds, and even committed to some new allies we hope to share experiences with come game. The road to Ashes of Creation is a long one, but the guilds vision has never been better and we strive for excellence as we continue to grow!

25 Players hit!
We are happy to announce we now have 25 active players in House Calderon. A large portion of these members come from our Army and Serfdom branches, with a steadily growing Magisterium branch. Transparency for us is very key in these early days, and we hope news of our steady growth will encourage others to come join while many of our branches and sections are still young, with plenty of room for growth, player involvement, and character development.
Conan Exiles Server Underway
The guild server for Conan Exiles is officially being worked on, with our dedicated host and builder Praecia giving us all in leadership a crash course in how to best build out a world we can use to RP Sanctus as we wait for Ashes of Creation. Below is a little teaser of of the Calderon family estate - "Salhaven" in Conan Exiles!
A New Chantry
Religious RP is a tough niche to fill. The guild section under the Magisterium known as The Chantry, offers a way for players to join a group dedicated to The Seven; the gods/goddesses of Verra to help guide the guild through religious rites, ceremonies, and other necessities of day to day life for our House. The Chantry scope however, is expanding, with it taking on ever larger role of a force against the Corruption and the more "evil" creatures we expect to see in Verra. Thanks to the Tower of Carphin back in March, we can fully see the need of a force that is able to push back against the evil plaguing Verra. More to come on this expansion of the Chantry, however, Priests and devout followers of the Seven are always welcome!
We cannot wait to show what we have in store and are planning, and we welcome all our friends to join us in the adventures to be had. All branches are seeking membership! The Army needs manpower to fight in the many Guild/Node Wars to come. The Magisterium must answer the gods and the call of the Essence. The Serfdom branch needs Citizens and individuals looking to build our society and grow the House through resource gathering, crafting, and more.

Today was a very big day for House Calderon. The devs have blessed us with a showing of the Freehold system! Freeholds for House Calderon are an important piece of our guild, as we have a detailed internal thought process to land ownership.
Individuals who pledge to House Calderon, like most guilds, will have use of Freeholds under our banner. However, we have additional perks that some RP guilds may not have:
Protection from Raiders/Bandits (PVP attacks) on your Freehold. As a RP-PvX guild, one of our greatest assets is our PVP Force. The entire Army of House Calderon is PVP enabled with intent on protecting our territory and the node we call home. That means corrupted players and those who choose a bandit path, will be killed on sight if found attacking our nodes or our neighbors nodes.
Guild Freehold Projects. The Freehold for us, isn't just a personal investment. It is a piece of Calderon holdings and the greater domain of House Calderon. All players, their families, businesses, and property within a Freehold of the House Calderon flag will work together. Building upon each other to provide a stream of resources, processes, and aid in upgrades.
Freehold Sharing. Freeholds under House Calderon from the Calderon Family, our officers, and individuals who agree to be our vassal houses shall be open to our members for use. Allowing individuals to find safety in numbers, and be together for game mechanics, and RP!
We have also witnessed the first A2 visuals of life on the Freehold. We want to take this time to point to our Serfdom branch. Serfdom or simply to be a Serf by google definition is: "an agricultural laborer bound under the feudal system to work on their lord's estate". Inside this branch, you become a Citizen under House Calderon.
Our intent is for our Serfdom players to live either among/around the Calderon Family, or on their own Freeholds (or if housing is found, living in Node Housing). These Citizens will get all the benefits and privileges afforded to them under the protection of the Calderon family. The RP mechanics for this, is that by agreeing to join us as a simple citizen there is an exchange:
As a citizen under House Calderon you:
-Work on our Freeholds or the surrounding land. Gathering resources, processing them, and crafting. (Artisian)
-Host a business in Calderon Freeholds or in the Calderon home node.
-Be part of the citizen assembly which works with the Calderon Family to govern the Freeholds and lands around us
-Work with our neighbors in the home node, and surrounding Freeholds.
-Be a friendly, community driven individually
As a citizen under House Calderon you are given:
-Full protection under our Army (PVP enabled players)
-Full research and resource assistance (Exp and other help)
-Religious services from the Chantry (A section of our Essence branch)
-A Place to live (Housing or a place to bed down for Rest Exp and RP)
-A Community
The synergy between the Army (PVP), the Magisterium (Essence support), and Serfdom (PVE/Artisian) is huge. It is central to House Calderon as a guild. Join us today, and become part of the adventure as we make our mark in Verra.

The month of July is passing us by, and we're excited to share with you some new additions to House Calderon.
New Guild Standards
Player vs Player to our core
The first exciting bit is the guild leadership had a meeting after the recent game development update, going over a few changes to the core of the guild. First, we changed our recruitment stance by making it very clear of our PVP stance. We want to make it pubicly clear that House Calderon is ready and willing to play Ashes of Creation the way it is intended to be played. Thus, we have spoken with our membership to make this fact well known. The House Calderon Army was already a branch that was "forced" PVP enabled. That means for every soldier we have, they must be willing to PVP. Now, we take it a step further, to ensure the protection of our people, all guild members must be ready to defend themselves.
Change of Goals
The goals of the guild have also changed. We used to aim to own larger swaths of land, previously being under the impression that Freeholds were much more accessible then they're now being planned. Our Citizen sub section under our Serfdom branch has been especially hit with the realization that not all our Citizen players, who wished to RP and cut out a life for themselves, will be unable to do so alone. Now, we have closed focus by creating a new set of goals.
-Obtaining 2-3 Freeholds as Calderon lands.
-Sponsoring guild members on these lands to live, farm, process, and get the best out of them possible
-Defend the Freeholds with a standing Army that will patrol and station themselves in a garrison on the Freehold
This vast change to the way we intended to play, links up with the new realization of Freeholds, and enables our Serfdom branch and Army branch to play closer together. One branch building and living on the Freehold. One branch meant to protect those living on it.
Branch Changes
Along with the news, we have changed somethings to our 3 branches and their sub sections. The Army - The Army's Men at Arms, our primary military force, was already PVP enabled. However, their mission statement has changed. Previously, this force would RP on their down time, train, and be deployed as needed by the House. Now, due to the lack of safety on the Freehold. The Men at Arms will be asked to grow and station troops to defend our non-combatives who want to focus on Artisian classes and skills. The goal is to have PVP capable troops, living among citizens for protection.
The Magisterium - Our Essence Academy, the magic academia where our arcane adept players focus on the magical arts, lore, and history of verra is growing! Now with their own group, the Essence Academy will begin to write and world build how the Academy will establish itself! We are seeking individuals who live for magical RP! Join up, and be part of the grand awakening of magic in House Calderon!
The Serfdom - The Freehold update took our Citizen sub branch by storm, as many Citizen players had hopes for farms and villas. Instead of private individual owned lands, House Calderon is moving to a communal system where Freeholds will be shared among our Citizen players. Specific land owners will be awarded leadership of other citizens, and a new sub governmental structure is being created as we learn more about the systems. The aim is to share the space and build a rural life together under the watchful gaze of the Calderons.

House Calderon joins an Alliance
We at House Calderon are excited to announce that we have partnered with 3 other guilds to form a new Alliance. A Faction that we intend to build slowly into the future of Ashes of Creation. I present: The Koveran Republic
Based on principles all our guilds share. We have formed this Republic in the hopes of creating a RP friendly space, and a competitive faction for Node/Guild Wars. A government with elected officials and plenty of room for growth. The Koveran Republic is young and makes up the guilds Luminary Consortium, Four Fathers, and Hunter's Moon.
Introducing: House Calderon - Sanctus RP Conan Exiles
Our Conan Exiles project is finally nearing its completion as we put the finishing touches on our build and server! Mods are finalized, and we're excited to share it with our membership and friends. The Conan Exiles server for us will host the amazing adventures previously spent on discord, into a game. Bringing our Sanctus RP to the 3D world.
We are using the unique map of Savage Wilds and plan to create a space for all the branches of the guild. Take a glimpse of the House Calderon estate - Salhaven, below!
Three MMOs to Rule them All
It is no surprise that in the wait for Ashes of Creation, players get conflicted. Every player has their game that they're spending time in waiting for Ashes, and we've already spoken about two MMOs we play: Black Desert Online (BDO) and Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). Guilds for both games are to be formed soon, as we elect individuals who want to host content on either/or. However, a third MMO is making is appearance as we work with our allies in the Koveran Republic to play a game together to work on alliance gameplay. Archeage Classic releasing this August. If any of these 3 games is your current MMO to enjoy while awaiting Ashes, we welcome you to join us!
A great deal of new content is coming for HC as we approach the end of the summer into the Fall months. We hope you will join us as we build our House, and the Koveran Republic!

Today is a big day for House Calderon. Today, is a day of change. A day of union. A day of great advancement for the House Calderon guild, and our little community. The guild welcomes a large group to the guild in the form of a Guild Merger.
The guild: Hunter’s Moon, our ally, and a founding guild of The Koveran Republic, had decided to join House Calderon for a more united guild. The decision was made by the leader of HM, Mavi, regarding the merger, bringing them under the House Calderon banner as a Patron Family.
House Calderon welcome Hunter’s Moon as a patron family, and will soon be renamed into their own vassal house under the Calderon family. Their members are now House Calderon members, and Mavi is henceforth named “Lord Mavi”. Riji, now having a vassal, is henceforth named the title of Baron.
A letter from House Calderon’s leader, Riji, reads:
“I am profoundly happy and welcoming to the members of Hunter’s Moon as they join House Calderon. I pledge my support to the many players who are joining, their character designs, and the stories they wish to tell. Mavi has become our first Vassal Lord, and with him, his family in the reformed Hunter’s Moon; who will soon share a common family name. I ask all questions be directed to me henceforth.”

House Calderon is now over 35 members strong, with the addition of the Hunter’s Moon family. The bonds we share will continue to grow. The House Calderon Patron system allows for smaller groups of friends to join us in the form of a Vassal Family. A Family will be given opportunity to:
-Govern their own RP
-Participate in all the guilds branches
-Become part of the noble hierarchy of House Calderon
-Unified member pool for game content and future gaming

House Calderon continues to grow as we exceed our hopes with the addition of Hunter's Moon. Renamed now: The Ithil Family, this group has become the first Minor House under the primary House that is The Calderon Family. Nobility RP is very important to the structure of the guild as we aim to build a society within our alliance and nation: The Koveran Republic.
Families are important inside Ashes of Creation itself as we understand them. A Family will be able to work together to hold land (Freeholds), form businesses, live together, and build community. It is that reason that House Calderon invites any groups who wish to join the overall guild; agree to our rules and guidelines, and offer their allegiance may join the guild as their own family. There are only so many true Minor Houses we will allot at the pre-launch, so if you aim to do so, early is better!
Requirements for groups to join:
-You must be bringing a group (Family) with intention of participating and RPing a Minor House of House Calderon.
-You will become a branch family of the Calderons, bounding you to us by oath.
-You will have independence to produce the RP you wish, the goals you wish, and the property you wish. So long as you follow the direction of the overall guild, and focus on the betterment of the guild, and Koveran Republic.
-A Family must join with at least 5: 1 Head of Household who will be named a Patron, and 4 Family members.
Not all families need share nobility ties. Eventually, once Minor Houses are filled, we will begin to ask for Gentry and Commoner positions to be filled. Families will still be given the same opportunities and privileges, however they will lack IC authority and OOCly they will lose out on guild priority to be given land (Freeholds). Minor Houses and the Main House of the Calderon Family will take priority in pushing for lands and property. Gentry and Commoner Families will be able to work, live, and RP on Minor House land (Freeholds).
Conan Server release date
We at House Calderon are happy to announce our Conan server will be open to our members Aug 12th, and we will begin planning RP events within. Members will be given areas to build and we will build up our lore from Sanctus prior to game. More to come!
Baldur's Gate 3 takes the guild by storm!
BG3 has become the #1 hit game across House Calderon, with almost half of our playerbase playing a solo or co-op campaign. It's a huge talking point, and something we all commonly share. If you're a big BG3 player, you'll find a guild well at home as we discuss and show pictures of our time playing.

Job description: The House Staff's worker class seeks servants who wish to assist in the day to day running and upkeep of the Calderon estate. These individuals will be set to assist the Calderon family, joining them on excursions away from home, and providing social support.

-Social RP focus
-Would RP living, working in the Calderon family home/freehold
-Assist in decorating property, and running errands in the home node.

The guild is also seeking to stand up our professional Army. If you will read on our website, (Click here for Info on the Army) we intend to stand up a full time RP-PVP enabled force. The aptly named **Men at Arms** will not only RP the day to day soldier of House Calderon, but OOC; they will PVP to protect our non-combat population, defend our lands (Freeholds), patrol the home node, and go on the offensive in Node/Guild Wars.
The Men at Arms of the Army, needs all the soldiers it can get. We are currently at a full Cohort, but desire to stand up a Regiment before too long. A larger Army, means more opportunities. If you are seeking a more engaging lifestyle with the rigorous challenge of PVP combat, mixed with RP duties of patroling, serving, and protecting. You will find no greater reward then service in our Army as a member of the Men at Arms.

It's been a good little while, but this is Riji with another update on House Calderon!
The guild has been going through a series of reformations lately, as many of our player base play new and exciting games as we wait for Ashes of Creation. Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, and ArcheAge Classic are just a few games that many are playing.
We have a series of announcements to make, so let's get right to it!
End of the Koveran Republic
We regret to report, the guild alliance that we had helped pioneer; The Koveran Republic, has been disbanded. This is a regrettable occurrence and one as a founder guild, we take to heart. Finding fellow guilds who align with our ideals and beliefs can be tricky, and we have learned that it will take more to maintain such. We remain steadfast friends with our former alliance guilds, and wish them all well as we plan for the future.
That being said, as we have recently announced to our Guild Ambassadors on our discord server. During this Pre-Alpha stage of Ashes of Creation's development. House Calderon will now be seeking to help create, or join any Guild Alliances for both game or RP purposes. We have decided as a guild, to leave that business for game, and for proper negotiations to be had. Although we are open to still be in contact with the various guilds; both RP and non RP who still maintain contact with us.
Ithil Family disbanded
Another hit to the Roleplay of House Calderon, is the official disbanding of a family. The Ithil family has ceased to be a thing in our story, pending membership and further development of Ashes of Creation. Primarily, many members who belonged to this family, simply wish to wait for the game to get closer to release. We here at House Calderon understand that the Pre-Alpha 2 wait is long, and encourage our members to be hands off if they so choose.
New Commitment - Nodes
The House Calderon leadership had a Town Hall back on Aug 27th. We discussed with our various guilds and even guests our intentions as a guild. One of those discussions, was our deep commitment to being more than just a RP guild, but a guild that aims to organize and build itself up for Ashes of Creation. Watching the new debut of Nodes in the August Dev update, we are more committed then ever to bring a home node to life. Defending it, and being apart of the community surrounding that node.
As a guild, we wish to uphold the RP traditions many of us hold dear, but as the same time; be realistic to the hard work that will come with a game like Ashes of Creation. That is why we not only expect, but demand our military and fighting players to not simply RP, but to PVP as well.
If you are seeking a guild that will not only breath life into a node, but deeply contribute to its defense, upgrading it, but also pouring time and resources into its development. House Calderon will answer that call.
We walk a long and difficult path, but we accept the challenge, gladly, ready to fight for what we believe. We are House Calderon.

It has been a long month since our last update. So much has happened, and we in House Calderon have gone through a round of changes.
Alpha 2 in 2024!
House Calderon is excited at the announcement that Alpha 2 is coming in 2024! The guild was founded after Alpha 1 had started, with a handful of Alpha 1 vets, so the chance for many to finally get our hands on the game this coming year has brought excitement!
House Calderon is looking for Alpha 2 accessible players to join us as we learn the ways of Ashes of Creation. Take part in testing and working on guild activities, and fine tuning systems we are developing for game. Now is the best time to join, as we gear up to grow come 2024!
Changes in Leadership (Calderon Family)
House Calderon leadership has changed, detaching the notion that a Calderon = Leadership. The Calderon Family RP is still crucial and the core theme of the guild, due to it being the namesake of the guild itself. However, being a Calderon no longer ties one to automatic leadership. This will allow our family to grow and find others and general members who wish to become Calderons themselves in the future, or the development of branch families.
From now on, leadership in House Calderon will be split into 3 categories.
The Council - Who's duty it is to lead the entire guild. A shared space with the guild leader to affect the story and gaming direction of the guild. The Council is made up of the direct Branch and Section leads of the guild, headed by the Guild Leader.
The Court - The House Court; or "Assembly" is a group of officers filling appointments. These appointments are not direct leads of core guild structures, but lead necessary parts of the guild. Things like Recruitment, Foreign Affairs (Guild to Guild relations) and more, will have Court appointments. These individuals will advise the Council and head up their own groups we call "Ministries" that will help govern the guild.
Junior Officers - A Junior Officer is a direct leader. These are individuals we deem worthy of authority over other players. Each Branch has their own way of electing Junior Officers, and each Junior Officer may have different responsibilities. What they share in common, is the understanding that they are volunteering to be leaders of other players.

Refocus to Internal Roleplay and Story development
House Calderon has been a guild committed to three things. Storytelling, Character Development, and Community. We have focused deeply for the last year on Community, and with that, we have neglected our first two priorities. Thus, with the rest of the year into 2024; we are refocusing purely on Story and Character Development.
The guild lore is being rewritten to focus more on the personal connections of our current playerbase. We are developing new RP scenerios, and even tabletop sessions using Roll20 to RP in Sanctus. Our Discord RP is being rebranded for a closer experience. We fully want to invest in the RP of our members, and preparing our characters for game.
Rebranding our RP-PVP Force
RP is not our only pillar, as we now see Ashes of Creation on the horizon. We are guild that will never shy away from PVP. We understand how Ashes is being made, with the treat of open world PVP a constant challenge. This is why we are seeking like-minded players who want to rally behind the House Calderon banner. All RPiers in our armed forces, must PVP. There will be no dice rolling in game. You fight, or you die.
With this in mind, the guild has shifted and rebranded the original Army branch into the Military branch. Our main force in the Men at Arms remains the same, along with the Knights and Vanguard. However, Arcane classes may now freely join. There is no hard split between martial and arcane forces. If you want to serve the realm. You join the Military. New positions for all classes and archetypes will be made available as we intend to grow the Men at Arms into a proper fighting force.
However, we cannot be a ground force alone. Now; House Calderon for the first time in our year as a guild will begin recruiting for our b]Navy[/b]. The Navy of House Calderon will be dedicated to researching, crafting, manning, and deploying Ships, along with the training and usage of Aquatic mounts. The nature of Ashes of Creation means the open oceans are auto flag PVP, thus all Navy sailors fall under the Military branch.
With new rebranding of our branches, new systems in play, and shift to focus on our RP development. Now is the best time to join House Calderon. A House that must stand on its own, ready to move into the world of Verra. We need leaders, members, friends, and family who are ready to join us in this undertaking.

First off, I and the rest of House Calderon want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! 2024 will be the year of Ashes, as we now know Alpha 2 is coming Q3 2024!!!
While this new is big for us, we have even bigger news.
It is with a heavy heart and after a 18 months as a guild; House Calderon will be shutting down. We have discussed this in length between myself and my fellow Calderons, and after repeated attempts to try to change things up. We decided that as a guild leadership, we could not provide what we knew our members needed for a full fledged MMO experience that Ashes of Creation will bring. The Calderon Family, the core of this guild, is a group that has played together for over a decade, and we are just not able to provide the type of community our members deserve to have.
However, with the end of House Calderon as a guild comes a wind of change. A chance for something different for us. A chance to put our ideas, our story, and our commitment to another community that has welcomed us with open arms. House Calderon as of today, has merged into The Gilded House!
House Calderon will join the Gilded House RP community as a vassal house alongside House Thorne, House Greythorne, House Kurita, and of course; House Kimura. The Gilded House has been a long time associate, a competitive rival, and fellow story creator who has been full of friends and old comrades from games past. We did not take this choice lightly, but we are happy to join Gilded House and begin a new chapter as a united front.
All House Calderon dealings and RP will now fall under Gilded House from here on, and this thread is effectively closed. We will be shutting down our discord and other properties on and after New Years Day, and will be slowly transitioning ourselves as members.
Thank you to all who have supported House Calderon for the last year and 6 months. Ashes of Creation will be an amazing game, and we want to enjoy it to fullest without worry, and we know Gilded House will be a home we can tell the stories we want to tell, push content, and help our friends and family achieve the dreams they have set out for the game.

House Calderon continues to strive for excellence as we build up our story line, have frequent gaming sessions, and develop our characters for Ashes of Creation.
We are happy to announce a change to House Calderon's focus and declare that House Calderon will focus as a guild on two specific trades: Agriculture and Blacksmithing. A majority of members are interested in Farming, Animal Husbandry, and Blacksmith Artisan classes for Ashes of Creation, thus we felt it only fair that we create a RP background that will encourage this. House Calderon will focus very deeply in the growing of food with rich farmland, livestock, taming and mining/processing of metal in family Smithies.
For backstory, House Calderon like our sigil, focused back in old Verra on taming winged beasts with a proud warrior history. During the war seasons, we traditionally prepare for great battles. However, during times of peace and harvest, our warriors will return to their lands and plant crops, raise animals, and hone the tools of war back home. We feel it is important to not only fuel this corner of our eventual server economy, but have a strong RP backstory that we can support through our continued RP.
House Calderon isn't just looking for Soldiers for our Army, or future scholars and mages. We are looking for residents. Players looking to settle our land and unite under a common banner. This is taking shape today in Discord RP, as we build settlements and stories that shape our community in Sanctus that will eventually transfer to Verra come game. Above is the Village of Runswick, a common starting place for our Serfdom characters seeking a home for their start in our narrative.
We have recently discussed our "Alt Character" policy, which we are keeping purposefully very vague. When you apply for House Calderon, you do as your main character. However, you're not restricted to just the main when you RP with us. Freely create alternative characters to express your writing and abilities in the guild. Future restrictions may be in place to allow Mains the priority of advancement in the narrative.

Many of our players are playing daily, if not weekly different games. The last week has been one of great change and activity for House Calderon. We've had a resurgence of activity with all our members taking part in guild polls, discussion, and ultimately making several big decisions that have altered our course. Let's get right into it!
House Calderon will soon be getting into a dedicated game where we will RP in. Our Discord RP is still a very committed endeavor with large amounts of posts daily across multiple channels. However, after a recent poll, the desire of our membership to play a game and RP within has become clear. HC Leadership is extremely transparent, so we put the choice in our members. We will have results of this out soon!
House Calderon had done one dedicated Game Night, but this has expanded due to major popularity! Game Night is a time for us to be social, hang out in social, and just get to know our membership. Last week we played Among Us and it was a big hit!

A flurry of shock rises across the entire manor as the Calderon Family is recalled home, and riders sent to the remaining patrols. House Calderon's Castellan, 3rd Son; Cruxx Dior Calderon declares Salhaven to be locked down and the Men at Arms called up to respond. Healer Rex Tais begins to tend to Dasyra, as the Lord Commander; Alenduil Calderon, leader of House Calderon's Army returns home to the maddness. Lord Riji himself orders the remaining family members to be sought, and specifically asks for his Knight Commander, his youngest half brother; Ser Arontinir Calderon to be found to assemble a force to hit back at the enemy who appears to be another noble house to the east. Butler Mars and Staff of the House hurry to prepare for the assembled family, and the coming choice... Will it be peace, or will it be war?"

Welcome to Summer and Happy Pride Month. House Calderon has been working hard to welcome the summer season with an array of new initiatives.
House Calderon spent the last weeks voting, and we have a winner. Seeking a game to Roleplay in, House Calderon membership overwhelmingly approved of playing Conan Exiles! One of our members being a long time server host and specialist in creating Conan Exiles RP servers, we are now in the process of a private server dedicated to our RP! No longer will our story be confined to only Discord RP, we will be building out a map to tell our story in Sanctus! The Server will be under construction for a time, but we're excited for the possibilities of a game to RP in.
House Calderon isn't only playing Conan Exiles. We have now dedicated to two MMOs and several games we now have a dedicated base of players in.
Black Desert Online and Elder Scrolls Online are the MMOs of choice, as we play together to practice PVP and questing content. Both games are getting big expansion level updates this month, and we're excited to play together! For more casual play, we now have a dedicated Overwatch 2 team and a weekly session playing Barotrauma on Fridays!
Did you enjoy the last dev stream? We sure did! The Cyclops World Boss got the guild amped for a good time! We will be meeting soon to fully discuss the stream and last month in our bi-monthly meetings. News is coming out that Alpha 2 keys may soon become limited, and we want to let the community know that if you still are looking for keys. We have members who do have avaiable A2 and Beta 1 & 2 keys.

Happy Anniversary to House Calderon as we officially celebrate 1 full year on the road to Ashes of Creation. This year has been a slow march forward. The goals of House Calderon were to get our base and foundation firm, and build something up for the hopeful game to come. We have a roster of 25 players now committed to the effort and dream that is House Calderon, with a few more still waiting for news of Alpha 2. We have a dedicated place in the Ashes Roleplay Community with 2 of our own becoming Moderators, helping build the ever expansive world that is Ashes RP. We have made friends along the way with a list of ambassadors from other guilds, and even committed to some new allies we hope to share experiences with come game. The road to Ashes of Creation is a long one, but the guilds vision has never been better and we strive for excellence as we continue to grow!
Now, for some updates!
We are happy to announce we now have 25 active players in House Calderon. A large portion of these members come from our Army and Serfdom branches, with a steadily growing Magisterium branch. Transparency for us is very key in these early days, and we hope news of our steady growth will encourage others to come join while many of our branches and sections are still young, with plenty of room for growth, player involvement, and character development.
The guild server for Conan Exiles is officially being worked on, with our dedicated host and builder Praecia giving us all in leadership a crash course in how to best build out a world we can use to RP Sanctus as we wait for Ashes of Creation. Below is a little teaser of of the Calderon family estate - "Salhaven" in Conan Exiles!
Religious RP is a tough niche to fill. The guild section under the Magisterium known as The Chantry, offers a way for players to join a group dedicated to The Seven; the gods/goddesses of Verra to help guide the guild through religious rites, ceremonies, and other necessities of day to day life for our House. The Chantry scope however, is expanding, with it taking on ever larger role of a force against the Corruption and the more "evil" creatures we expect to see in Verra. Thanks to the Tower of Carphin back in March, we can fully see the need of a force that is able to push back against the evil plaguing Verra. More to come on this expansion of the Chantry, however, Priests and devout followers of the Seven are always welcome!
We cannot wait to show what we have in store and are planning, and we welcome all our friends to join us in the adventures to be had. All branches are seeking membership! The Army needs manpower to fight in the many Guild/Node Wars to come. The Magisterium must answer the gods and the call of the Essence. Today was a very big day for House Calderon. The devs have blessed us with a showing of the Freehold system! Freeholds for House Calderon are an important piece of our guild, as we have a detailed internal thought process to land ownership.
Individuals who pledge to House Calderon, like most guilds, will have use of Freeholds under our banner. However, we have additional perks that some RP guilds may not have:
We have also witnessed the first A2 visuals of life on the Freehold. We want to take this time to point to our Serfdom branch. Serfdom or simply to be a Serf by google definition is: "an agricultural laborer bound under the feudal system to work on their lord's estate". Inside this branch, you become a Citizen under House Calderon.
Our intent is for our Serfdom players to live either among/around the Calderon Family, or on their own Freeholds (or if housing is found, living in Node Housing). These Citizens will get all the benefits and privileges afforded to them under the protection of the Calderon family. The RP mechanics for this, is that by agreeing to join us as a simple citizen there is an exchange:
As a citizen under House Calderon you:
-Work on our Freeholds or the surrounding land. Gathering resources, processing them, and crafting. (Artisian)
-Host a business in Calderon Freeholds or in the Calderon home node.
-Be part of the citizen assembly which works with the Calderon Family to govern the Freeholds and lands around us
-Work with our neighbors in the home node, and surrounding Freeholds.
-Be a friendly, community driven individually
As a citizen under House Calderon you are given:
-Full protection under our Army (PVP enabled players)
-Full research and resource assistance (Exp and other help)
-Religious services from the Chantry (A section of our Essence branch)
-A Place to live (Housing or a place to bed down for Rest Exp and RP)
-A Community

The month of July is passing us by, and we're excited to share with you some new additions to House Calderon.
The first exciting bit is the guild leadership had a meeting after the recent game development update, going over a few changes to the core of the guild. First, we changed our recruitment stance by making it very clear of our PVP stance. We want to make it pubicly clear that House Calderon is ready and willing to play Ashes of Creation the way it is intended to be played. Thus, we have spoken with our membership to make this fact well known. The House Calderon Army was already a branch that was "forced" PVP enabled. That means for every soldier we have, they must be willing to PVP. Now, we take it a step further, to ensure the protection of our people, all guild members must be ready to defend themselves.
The goals of the guild have also changed. We used to aim to own larger swaths of land, previously being under the impression that Freeholds were much more accessible then they're now being planned. Our Citizen sub section under our Serfdom branch has been especially hit with the realization that not all our Citizen players, who wished to RP and cut out a life for themselves, will be unable to do so alone. Now, we have closed focus by creating a new set of goals.
-Obtaining 2-3 Freeholds as Calderon lands.
-Sponsoring guild members on these lands to live, farm, process, and get the best out of them possible
-Defend the Freeholds with a standing Army that will patrol and station themselves in a garrison on the Freehold
This vast change to the way we intended to play, links up with the new realization of Freeholds, and enables our Serfdom branch and Army branch to play closer together. One branch building and living on the Freehold. One branch meant to protect those living on it.
Along with the news, we have changed somethings to our 3 branches and their sub sections.
The Army - The Army's Men at Arms, our primary military force, was already PVP enabled. However, their mission statement has changed. Previously, this force would RP on their down time, train, and be deployed as needed by the House. Now, due to the lack of safety on the Freehold. The Men at Arms will be asked to grow and station troops to defend our non-combatives who want to focus on Artisian classes and skills. The goal is to have PVP capable troops, living among citizens for protection.
The Magisterium - Our Essence Academy, the magic academia where our arcane adept players focus on the magical arts, lore, and history of verra is growing! Now with their own group, the Essence Academy will begin to write and world build how the Academy will establish itself! We are seeking individuals who live for magical RP! Join up, and be part of the grand awakening of magic in House Calderon!
The Serfdom - The Freehold update took our Citizen sub branch by storm, as many Citizen players had hopes for farms and villas. Instead of private individual owned lands, House Calderon is moving to a communal system where Freeholds will be shared among our Citizen players. Specific land owners will be awarded leadership of other citizens, and a new sub governmental structure is being created as we learn more about the systems. The aim is to share the space and build a rural life together under the watchful gaze of the Calderons.
Summer is paving its way, and as many members return from the rigors of life changes, summer vacation, and more. House Calderon has a ton in store to prepare for the coming changes!
House Calderon joins an Alliance
We at House Calderon are excited to announce that we have partnered with 3 other guilds to form a new Alliance. A Faction that we intend to build slowly into the future of Ashes of Creation. I present: The Koveran Republic
Based on principles all our guilds share. We have formed this Republic in the hopes of creating a RP friendly space, and a competitive faction for Node/Guild Wars. A government with elected officials and plenty of room for growth. The Koveran Republic is young and makes up the guilds Luminary Consortium, Four Fathers, and Hunter's Moon.
Introducing: House Calderon - Sanctus RP Conan Exiles
Our Conan Exiles project is finally nearing its completion as we put the finishing touches on our build and server! Mods are finalized, and we're excited to share it with our membership and friends. The Conan Exiles server for us will host the amazing adventures previously spent on discord, into a game. Bringing our Sanctus RP to the 3D world.

Three MMOs to Rule them All
It is no surprise that in the wait for Ashes of Creation, players get conflicted. Every player has their game that they're spending time in waiting for Ashes, and we've already spoken about two MMOs we play: Black Desert Online (BDO) and Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). Guilds for both games are to be formed soon, as we elect individuals who want to host content on either/or. However, a third MMO is making is appearance as we work with our allies in the Koveran Republic to play a game together to work on alliance gameplay. Archeage Classic releasing this August. If any of these 3 games is your current MMO to enjoy while awaiting Ashes, we welcome you to join us!
A great deal of new content is coming for HC as we approach the end of the summer into the Fall months. We hope you will join us as we build our House, and the Koveran Republic!
Today is a big day for House Calderon. Today, is a day of change. A day of union. A day of great advancement for the House Calderon guild, and our little community. The guild welcomes a large group to the guild in the form of a Guild Merger.
The guild: Hunter’s Moon, our ally, and a founding guild of The Koveran Republic, had decided to join House Calderon for a more united guild. The decision was made by the leader of HM, Mavi, regarding the merger, bringing them under the House Calderon banner as a Patron Family.
House Calderon welcome Hunter’s Moon as a patron family, and will soon be renamed into their own vassal house under the Calderon family. Their members are now House Calderon members, and Mavi is henceforth named “Lord Mavi”. Riji, now having a vassal, is henceforth named the title of Baron.
A letter from House Calderon’s leader, Riji, reads:
“I am profoundly happy and welcoming to the members of Hunter’s Moon as they join House Calderon. I pledge my support to the many players who are joining, their character designs, and the stories they wish to tell. Mavi has become our first Vassal Lord, and with him, his family in the reformed Hunter’s Moon; who will soon share a common family name. I ask all questions be directed to me henceforth.”

House Calderon is now over 35 members strong, with the addition of the Hunter’s Moon family. The bonds we share will continue to grow. The House Calderon Patron system allows for smaller groups of friends to join us in the form of a Vassal Family. A Family will be given opportunity to:
-Govern their own RP
-Participate in all the guilds branches
-Become part of the noble hierarchy of House Calderon
-Unified member pool for game content and future gaming

Families are important inside Ashes of Creation itself as we understand them. A Family will be able to work together to hold land (Freeholds), form businesses, live together, and build community. It is that reason that House Calderon invites any groups who wish to join the overall guild; agree to our rules and guidelines, and offer their allegiance may join the guild as their own family. There are only so many true Minor Houses we will allot at the pre-launch, so if you aim to do so, early is better!
Requirements for groups to join:
-You must be bringing a group (Family) with intention of participating and RPing a Minor House of House Calderon.
-You will become a branch family of the Calderons, bounding you to us by oath.
-You will have independence to produce the RP you wish, the goals you wish, and the property you wish. So long as you follow the direction of the overall guild, and focus on the betterment of the guild, and Koveran Republic.
-A Family must join with at least 5: 1 Head of Household who will be named a Patron, and 4 Family members.
Not all families need share nobility ties. Eventually, once Minor Houses are filled, we will begin to ask for Gentry and Commoner positions to be filled. Families will still be given the same opportunities and privileges, however they will lack IC authority and OOCly they will lose out on guild priority to be given land (Freeholds). Minor Houses and the Main House of the Calderon Family will take priority in pushing for lands and property. Gentry and Commoner Families will be able to work, live, and RP on Minor House land (Freeholds).

Job description: The House Staff's worker class seeks servants who wish to assist in the day to day running and upkeep of the Calderon estate. These individuals will be set to assist the Calderon family, joining them on excursions away from home, and providing social support.

-Social RP focus
-Would RP living, working in the Calderon family home/freehold
-Assist in decorating property, and running errands in the home node.

The guild is also seeking to stand up our professional Army. If you will read on our website, (Click here for Info on the Army) we intend to stand up a full time RP-PVP enabled force. The aptly named **Men at Arms** will not only RP the day to day soldier of House Calderon, but OOC; they will PVP to protect our non-combat population, defend our lands (Freeholds), patrol the home node, and go on the offensive in Node/Guild Wars.
The Men at Arms of the Army, needs all the soldiers it can get. We are currently at a full Cohort, but desire to stand up a Regiment before too long. A larger Army, means more opportunities. If you are seeking a more engaging lifestyle with the rigorous challenge of PVP combat, mixed with RP duties of patroling, serving, and protecting. You will find no greater reward then service in our Army as a member of the Men at Arms.

It's been a good little while, but this is Riji with another update on House Calderon!
The guild has been going through a series of reformations lately, as many of our player base play new and exciting games as we wait for Ashes of Creation. Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, and ArcheAge Classic are just a few games that many are playing.
We have a series of announcements to make, so let's get right to it!
End of the Koveran Republic
We regret to report, the guild alliance that we had helped pioneer; The Koveran Republic, has been disbanded. This is a regrettable occurrence and one as a founder guild, we take to heart. Finding fellow guilds who align with our ideals and beliefs can be tricky, and we have learned that it will take more to maintain such. We remain steadfast friends with our former alliance guilds, and wish them all well as we plan for the future.
That being said, as we have recently announced to our Guild Ambassadors on our discord server. During this Pre-Alpha stage of Ashes of Creation's development. House Calderon will now be seeking to help create, or join any Guild Alliances for both game or RP purposes. We have decided as a guild, to leave that business for game, and for proper negotiations to be had. Although we are open to still be in contact with the various guilds; both RP and non RP who still maintain contact with us.
Ithil Family disbanded
Another hit to the Roleplay of House Calderon, is the official disbanding of a family. The Ithil family has ceased to be a thing in our story, pending membership and further development of Ashes of Creation. Primarily, many members who belonged to this family, simply wish to wait for the game to get closer to release. We here at House Calderon understand that the Pre-Alpha 2 wait is long, and encourage our members to be hands off if they so choose.
New Commitment - Nodes
The House Calderon leadership had a Town Hall back on Aug 27th. We discussed with our various guilds and even guests our intentions as a guild. One of those discussions, was our deep commitment to being more than just a RP guild, but a guild that aims to organize and build itself up for Ashes of Creation. Watching the new debut of Nodes in the August Dev update, we are more committed then ever to bring a home node to life. Defending it, and being apart of the community surrounding that node.
As a guild, we wish to uphold the RP traditions many of us hold dear, but as the same time; be realistic to the hard work that will come with a game like Ashes of Creation. That is why we not only expect, but demand our military and fighting players to not simply RP, but to PVP as well.
If you are seeking a guild that will not only breath life into a node, but deeply contribute to its defense, upgrading it, but also pouring time and resources into its development. House Calderon will answer that call.

The guild lore is being rewritten to focus more on the personal connections of our current playerbase. We are developing new RP scenerios, and even tabletop sessions using Roll20 to RP in Sanctus. Our Discord RP is being rebranded for a closer experience. We fully want to invest in the RP of our members, and preparing our characters for game.
RP is not our only pillar, as we now see Ashes of Creation on the horizon. We are guild that will never shy away from PVP. We understand how Ashes is being made, with the treat of open world PVP a constant challenge. This is why we are seeking like-minded players who want to rally behind the House Calderon banner. All RPiers in our armed forces, must PVP. There will be no dice rolling in game. You fight, or you die.
With this in mind, the guild has shifted and rebranded the original Army branch into the Military branch. Our main force in the Men at Arms remains the same, along with the Knights and Vanguard. However, Arcane classes may now freely join. There is no hard split between martial and arcane forces. If you want to serve the realm. You join the Military. New positions for all classes and archetypes will be made available as we intend to grow the Men at Arms into a proper fighting force.
However, we cannot be a ground force alone. Now; House Calderon for the first time in our year as a guild will begin recruiting for our b]Navy[/b]. The Navy of House Calderon will be dedicated to researching, crafting, manning, and deploying Ships, along with the training and usage of Aquatic mounts. The nature of Ashes of Creation means the open oceans are auto flag PVP, thus all Navy sailors fall under the Military branch.
With new rebranding of our branches, new systems in play, and shift to focus on our RP development. Now is the best time to join House Calderon. A House that must stand on its own, ready to move into the world of Verra. We need leaders, members, friends, and family who are ready to join us in this undertaking.

First off, I and the rest of House Calderon want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! 2024 will be the year of Ashes, as we now know Alpha 2 is coming Q3 2024!!!
While this new is big for us, we have even bigger news.
It is with a heavy heart and after a 18 months as a guild; House Calderon will be shutting down. We have discussed this in length between myself and my fellow Calderons, and after repeated attempts to try to change things up. We decided that as a guild leadership, we could not provide what we knew our members needed for a full fledged MMO experience that Ashes of Creation will bring. The Calderon Family, the core of this guild, is a group that has played together for over a decade, and we are just not able to provide the type of community our members deserve to have.
However, with the end of House Calderon as a guild comes a wind of change. A chance for something different for us. A chance to put our ideas, our story, and our commitment to another community that has welcomed us with open arms. House Calderon as of today, has merged into The Gilded House!
House Calderon will join the Gilded House RP community as a vassal house alongside House Thorne, House Greythorne, House Kurita, and of course; House Kimura. The Gilded House has been a long time associate, a competitive rival, and fellow story creator who has been full of friends and old comrades from games past. We did not take this choice lightly, but we are happy to join Gilded House and begin a new chapter as a united front.
All House Calderon dealings and RP will now fall under Gilded House from here on, and this thread is effectively closed. We will be shutting down our discord and other properties on and after New Years Day, and will be slowly transitioning ourselves as members.
