Monster AI, What type of AI would AoC aspire to have?

Ever since playing Runescape and WoW, monster AI in mmos was always minimal at best. "move towards player, stop at melee range, use autoattacks, use ability that's not on cooldown once every x seconds"
What type of AI would Ashes have? Especially considering that due to Action combat, I assume that if you're no longer in range of a melee swing, then it doesn't do damage to you. Will there be melee monsters that do more than move close and swing?
I mean mob AI was this thing that nobody ever improved on for as long as i've seen games, it's always very rudimentary. Is there any chance there will be something slightly more fancy in AoC?
