Ranks in AoC ( Node ranks, Guild ranks, PvP ranks, PvE ranks )

Howdy !

I would like to start a discussion about types of ranks in AoC that you guys would want to see. I'll explain what I mean by ranks and such.

RANK TITLES

Let's say that AoC plans to make an MMO with details that go beyond our expectations. Going on that mindset I think ranks within the game should be a thing. Most of the time when people talk about ranks we often think about democracy ranking system among real countries. So for those who don't know what's a democracy ranking system let me help you out ! First thing is the political system which includes the mayor of course but we could add ranks in that political system that would help the mayor.

POLITICAL SYSTEM RANKS IN NODE

This system is made to ensure stability and leadership for what's to come for the country or node like in AoC. The Mayor is the leader of that system as a leader figure and would be supported by lower ranks that defines the population but some of the ranks could also help the mayor in some tasks when he's not available or for some other things he doesn't have time to care about. The treasury of the Node should be taken care by someone who the mayor trust named Treasurer. The treasurer would be assigned to make sure ressources are available for the town when building something. This treasurer needs a team of Merchants that would help in making sure the Node runs good in ressources while making deals with them. I don't think there will be a justice type of thing in AoC but if there is I think it should be by votes of all of the citizens to cast out bad citizens or the mayor itself if needed. Citizens are part of the political system since they vote for the Mayor but could also get higher ranks such as merchant or even blacksmiths and many other jobs within the city. The rank would stay citizen but they could have optional ranks added to them that mentions their specialty. Like AoC said, some jobs are gonna be unique so knowing who does what in the Node would be extremely important. Maybe add a badge on their citizenship given by the mayor ? Lots of ideas come to mind but we need a way to know who does what. Let's now talk about the Guild type of ranks.


GUILD RANKS

When we talk about these type of ranks it's pretty fair to say that it's simple to know what's to come. Guild Leader or Guild Master, Second GM or GL, QuarterMaster and members. I want that kind of rank but let's be honest, it would be way better to create our own ranks with their own rules for each one. Let's say 10 ranks but you could put less ranks than that to your liking and with different rules. Pretty simple for the guild ranks but will help a lot. So what kind of rules do you think ? Well, as for my thinking we should think about (Who can take stuff out of the guild chest/revenue) or even add stuff within it. Also, who could ban/kick people or even make announcements within the guild itself. If there is a quest system it would be good aswell to have guild quests that some ranks could launch for the team like guild bosses for examples. Let's not go on forever but some of you may add additionnal ideas to that of course. We'll now look at PvP ranks.


PVP RANKS

That's a hot one to talk about for some of you but let's be straight on this one. PvP could have a ranking system apart from nodes or other ranks. These could be on how much people you killed while being corrupted or even have an arena for 1vs1 type of PvP. I think it should also be when people do sieges of nodes and win in popularity as such by having a rank given to dedicated siege players. It could be titles or even stats only among their own guilds when it's a GvG. Let's be honest we want special rewards. It could be badges on their name that would suggest an achievement that could be weekly only or permanent such as my idea for the jobs within the city. Let's say you killed 1000 persons in that week in a single siege you could get an exclusive badge or emblem that would last a week or even a color on your name to signify your rank within the pvp. Let's think about Warlord, Specialist, Veteran of War or many other titles that I'll let AoC think about but that would be awesome. If there is a like a type of man hunt system that would be awesome aswell to have titles for these guys who hunt corrupted players among the lands. Okay now let's dive in the last type of rank !

PVE RANKS

The good PvE system is the basics of any MMO out there. Rankings in these would be pretty simple. Best Blacksmith, Best wood cutter, Best Merchants or even best Dungeon player in certain dungeons. Let's say that I help a ton of people in a week. Getting a special reward from that would motivate people to do so aswell as some badges like I said before. Exclusive type of rewards for different dungeons you do. What about the Merchants or Blacksmiths ? Maybe add some type of reward weekly or a way to know who's better in what node and more. Competitive PvE is also a good way to make spicy challenges such as speedruns of dungeons or other stuffs out there. Events made by the GMs that would grant rewards aswell. So how do I get top 1 blacksmith ? Well pretty simple, level up the lifeskill or job withing your character with infinite levels. Which could grant you specialty for each blacksmith and such. The best Blacksmith for certain weapons and more. Merchants could have better speed on their caravan and better deals. The idea is to make different type of Blacksmiths or merchants and have them compete in different domain out there. If there's only one domain to fight for then it's boring. That's pretty much it for this PvE Rank part.

    Outside of those, I don't think I'm really interested in any other.

    PVP ranks should not correlate to corruption so as to avoid any incentive be infamy or otherwise to being corrupt. I think for PVE ranks the reward for being the best will likely be natural within the game, im unsure if a rank really adds anything to this.
    Guilds ranks should be on a guild by guild basis for sure. Political ranks, I could understand a treasurer appointed by the mayor for simplicity sake.
