How will Guild Leading Streamers fare?

I would think that the game requires a lot of cloak and dagger so streaming will be absolutely counterproductive for any content mildly contestable.
Same for streamers in mega-guilds.
Same for streamers in mega-guilds.

But in the flip side. Knowing where they will be and when they’ll be there? Could be some amazing brawls to watch, if people that just want to take them down band together.
Part of me says bitch, please, if you can't stream because of snipers, deal with it or add a 30 minute delay, nobody is forcing you to play or stream. Other part of me knows that streamers will bring a lot of players to the game, so it'd be pretty good for the game (not so good for the streamer servers).
All in all, I think that the relevant streamers will all go to the same servers and those will be a shit show, just like how it happened with WoW Classic. I wouldn't mind if Intrepid implemented a "Streamer Mode" where the game hides player names and other shit like that, but honestly that doesn't stop snipers, the streamers need to hide the map with an hotkey for a map overlay and add a delay if they actually wanna avoid snipers (which will be probably impossible in a game without teleport).
Indeed, those with charisma to bring people together might have the magic to get bits too.
And Intrepid Studios want those bits too. They should start acting like a streamer maybe.
It's very different, I don't know where you got the idea that big zerg guilds (500+ members) are comparable to what a big streamer does to a server, and by big streamers I'm talking about people with 15k viewers on a bad day. Trust me, you cannot compare that to a zerg, not at least during the first month(s) after launch.
In my experience, what happens is that something like 20%+ of the server population is in that server only because of the streamer. Wherever he goes, there will be hundreds (not an exaggeration) of people following him. It might be even called harassment, but it definitely shouldn't be against ToS to harass or stream snipe them. Some people will troll them, others will help them, but at the end of the day everyone in that area is affected. Not to mention the queues, oh baby, Faerlina will tell you.
That kind of shit happens to small streamers on games like Rust, imagine what happens on an MMO where it'll be harder to hide where you are, even with a delay. No need to imagine, classic wow and new world already showed what happens.
Want to go inside a building where the streamer is at? Too bad, because of player collision nobody will be able to enter or leave that building (one of the reasons why I think collision will need some attention, especially inside Nodes for people out of combat). Want to finish your quest of killing 10 boars? Well, if the streamer is also doing it, it'll take a couple of hours. Those are just a few examples.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't want to be protected from streamers or from stream snipers. All you gotta do is run to the other side of the map and stay as far away from them as you can, or better yet, go to a different server.
In any case, you can rest assured @LordXp that regardless if Intrepid names "official" servers for them or not, the big streamers will all go the same server(s) and announce it, so all you gotta do is make sure you don't pick the same server as them. I do, however, expect that Intrepid will announce the names of all the servers which will be up for launch 15 days in advance, so that friends, groups and everybody else can easily choose their server, streamer or otherwise.
I will feel bad for people who unknowingly choose the same server as the big streamers, but it's never too late to move to a different one.
Except the streamer would most likely got no clue what he's doing or where he's going, while the guild would most likely know the best paths and would be present at all the juicy spots on the map.
But even outside of that, the world is huge and there's no TPs AND you can go wherever because at release all locations are lowlevel, so it's not like the streamer group would stop you from doing anything in the game.
In other words, that shit looks the same to me. Except cooperated huge guilds have much bigger impact on the core gameplay of the game because they're optimized out of their minds and work towards singular goals, while streamer just fucks around with a few hundred dumbasses running around them. And if a huge guild leaves a server, imo, impact of their leave would be bigger than a streamer's, even if both would definitely have an impact.
If there is an official content creator/big streamer on a certain server, then people should be able to see that when hovering over it or servers with the normal rulesets, but a "Streamer" Tag, so people who want to play with them may, and people who dont want to play with them have an option to avoid it from the beginning.
its not exactly comparable based on the fact, that a streamer can fill up the majority of a servers capacity with his own goons. Which might make the Server Stale.
Organized guilds might be very oppressive, but those cant be fought and thats content. If a major part of the server population are goons of the streamer, then the server might become stale rather quickly or even worse, die off when the streamer eventually decides to leave the game.
But yes, as I've said, when the streamer leaves the game the server will definitely feel an impact, which is why I definitely agree with the suggestion of dedicated streamer servers.
Many, if not most, of the stream snipers actually want to grief/troll the streamer. People won't do the same quest or kill the same mobs for optimized gameplay and to reach goals, many people will do that so that the streamer cannot finish a quest, progress in-game, level up, etc., so people in that area are probably affected more, and maybe for longer, than a zerg doing it. Single player or not, from my experience the horde brought by big streamers affects an area of the server more than an organized zerg with the goal to progress and dominate does, at least during the first month(s) after launch.
Exactly because there's no TPs once the streamer is found, it's over. Again, there's not only the "streamer group", I'm not worried about the "streamer guild", my intention was never to even worry about what the streamer guild will or won't do, that's fine and no different from a zerg. What I'm talking about is the "anti-streamer horde", that's what's problematic. And yes, I understand that if you can't level up on Node X because of a streamer you can just move to Node Y 5 minutes away, but I never said that streamers would stop you from doing anything. I even said that if you see what's happening you should move away as far as possible from it, I only stated that until you move away, you're fucked.
I also believe that when a big guild leaves a server it's more impactful than when streamers move to the next hyped game, I never said it wasn't. You're just underestimating the effect of one big streamer to a single server, much less 10 (or more) of them.
If you can't or don't want to see the difference it's fine brother, nothing either of us say will change the shitshow that will happen, but Intrepid definitely needs to experiment with player collision inside Nodes.
Cheers
That is why you need to research streamers servers at launch and avoid them, it normally is pretty easy as a list will be posted up people make. Did that for my new world guild and worked pretty well knowing our choices and avoided crazy que times.
I disagree that Intrepid should designate servers for them because forcing communities to play a certain way is against the ideals of Ashes. If playing against/with large streamers is not what you want to be doing, you'll have to do research into what the big streamers plans are (and hopefully someone can put together a list of what streamers will be where.
If AoC becomes a popular game (which I hope it does), anyone leading a well established guild will probably consider streaming, given their achievements and knowledge of the game.
I don't think it's fair to say that they have to start on a new server specifically for when they decide to start streaming.
Successful guild leaders and players will naturally draw larger and larger audiences.

Nobody will be forced to play on specific servers, even big streamers can choose not to play on the unofficial or official (if there is one) streamer server. Labeling a server only helps people pick/avoid certain things such as streamers, RP, PvE, hardcore, etc., which will all have unofficial servers anyway. So it's not a big deal to label them or not, just might be helpful to some people.
Also, if someone starts streaming a year after launch they obviously don't need to move to a different server, I don't think that's anybody's intention. My only concern is about the first month(s) after launch, before the big streamers move to another game.
In my opinion Intrepid needs to capitalize on the possibly thousands of people who will hear about and play the game because of streamers, without damaging their game, regardless if these people will play for 1 month or 2 years.
As it happens, Intrepid do a livestream every month that is packed full of all the latest information! And unlike other streamers, it's not just regurgitated stuff that we've all heard before, Intrepid's streams are all new info!
You should give them a watch!
