Neat feature from vanilla Tera - Campfires & Charms

Back in the good ol' days of Tera releasing in the West, they had an interesting feature called Campfires.

Basically players could buy some campfires which they later could drop on the ground at any time. Players gathering around the fire would then get an increase in their max HP (up to 120% I believe) as well as having the opportunity to burn charms in it.

By burning charms in it, it would give anyone around that fire that scroll's specific buff (increased attack/defense/etc).

This was an interesting way for people to come together whilst questing in the world, and to buff themselves in dungeons before a boss.

I feel like this could be thematically fitting with Ashes of Creation, as well as being an interesting opportunity for social interaction in the large world we're given to play in.

Here are some random videos found on YouTube about this feature and random fun that happen around campfires.

I'm wary about adding 'yet another' type of buff to the game, since this sort of thing quickly becomes 'required', but I can see this sort of mechanic working really well for food buffs. Having a campfire sort of thing like this that lets you share a meal (or as a cook, possibly prepare or customize one) with your party when you're out in the wilderness away from a tavern, might be kindof nice.
  • I like this idea. It can add another social aspect to the game if others share in the campfire buff. They should borrow ideas from SWG. I loved their campsite system. Would be another fun thing for the crafters to make. The more advanced the camp, the better the buff and the more people who can be able to use it. We used to "hire" dancers to visit our camps and buff us up.
