I am hoping to get some clarification from @StevenSharif or one of the team @Roshen @Vaknar on what exactly the design pillars are for Ashes of Creation. There are two different sources of information, which are not the same. This came up when discussing whether risk vs reward was one of the pillars.
On March 10th, 2017 there was a blog post, A WORLD WITH CONSEQUENCES, that states that there are five main pillars:
However three months later there is a different message.
At the beginning of May 2017 the KickStarter video specifically states that there are four pillars:
While some of these intersect they are different from each other. So I am seeking clarification on which is correct. The wiki lists the first 5 pillars as the true pillars but after discussion it is not clear if this is the case.
Thanks!

- Node system is the Reactive World and Player Agency
- Meaningful conflict is Player Interaction, Player Agency and Risk vs Reward
- Economy is the same three
- Narrative is the Engaging and Immersive Story and the other way around
These are all just different words for the same concepts.This. All of them are, as they are interconnected with each other. One is merely going into more detail than the other.
