Immersion pt 3 - named items

Throughout fantasy stories there is always an element of named weapons, particularly swords, introduced. Weapons that mark the great deeds of the wielder prior to when our protagonist took over.

I was wondering if it would be possible to introduce something like this in AoC. Imagine, as the first clearers of a massive raid or the saviors of a world end event, or even the cause of a world ending event. All massive events that would allow you to shape the very landscape and forever imbed it into the story of your weapon (while providing a rarity and stat boost of course).

I imagine this would create a massive race to be the first at everything but at the same time that doesn't have to be the only requirement.

What do you guys think, would seeing unique weapons and armor be something that would be good or bad for the game?

If the player character leaves the server then the item will become available for acquisition through whatever means it was acquired previously.[7]

There are absolutely legendary items and they're not items that are attained easily nor are they granted out in a volume. There might even be items that are single items that will exist on the server at any given time.[8]

A legendary weapon is easily distinguished by its visual appearance.[4]

It will be a very ornate and detailed weapon, more so than any other weapon or piece of equipment in the game. It will also include some awesome looking effects that won't too gaudy, you know they won't be too bright and shiny so that it doesn't look good, but they will be subtle and people will notice it and know wow that guy has this weapon.[4] – Steven Sharif

There's already a plan for something like this.

@Natasha @SongRune Great to know, thanks for sharing, hopefully this isn't limited to drops and allow for names that are unique on the server for crafted legendary items!
