I haven't seen any community polls yet for what archetypes people are most interested in playing, so I thought I'd post one here.

Both are summoners, but the first one completely relies on the summon to do the dmg and just supports it with heals and buffs, while the second one is a debuffing mage that uses a summon to just share dmg with (the first one shares dmg too but it's the smaller summon function rather than the big one).
thats a high rate private server. but yeah necros are popular
Necromancer would be Cleric now in Ashes right?
For me, summoner could be about one pet, and skills spread in 3 category of close size
1) buffs for the minion.
Mostly some short time, for burst etc.
2) order for the minion
To do special skills coming from him
3) some attack skills for the summoner himself, would prefer some dot.
But those could also be "weapon skill only" and focus class skill around minions
i dont speak here about utility skills, which is a thing i hope for the 8 classes
Also, for buffs/order, it would be button which adapt to the kind of minion summon. (because minion can be more tanky, more DPS or more support)
Dreadnaught sounds really awesome but it requires me to be a fighter and not a tank, so I might end up playing the knight, even though it sounds less cool.
i think the necro in ashes is summoner with cleric subclass.
necros in l2 are just tanky mages (from the pet) with ok single target damage and lots of debuffs. its basically a summoner with a nuke
I thought Keeper sounded cool too, which was the Tank primary Summoner secondary. It'd be interesting if putting your shield up summoned a guard dog to go attack your enemy.
fantasy wise... uhhh i kinda like when you use stuff through the summon or you have an extra bar to manage
but i also liked how ffxiv did summoner in its current expansion - im not too picky on fantasy of it as much as the gameplay idea sounds fun
Even if the class “Tank” sound super ridiculous.
tank ranger sounds better, I think its called warden. keep threat on far away enemies seems good to me. ranged peel is good.
What about summoner blue?
I'm just really excited to see what they do with the bard class, I feel like it's usually left out of games or done really poorly☹️
Cleric is always going to be the strongest archetype. Healing is always the highest skill cap in MMOs, and they need to balance it so bad players can still play healers. This makes good healers ridiculously overpowered. Tanks will probably be on par with top DPS classes. Summoner seems to be more jack of all trades, master of none, so they probably won't actually be that strong in reality.
I feel like the Paladin will be the best solo class, tanky + selfsustain + leveling content designed around solo play + very useful in low level group content
