Question about preparing before PvE

Will players need preparation for PvE via professions such as cooking/alchemy.

I feel like if designers made PvE difficulty without need of preparation, it
will not create sandbox MMO vibe.

Why am I saying this? Because sandbox MMOs keep tradition of RPG games.

It is like comparing playing Skyrim with or without starvation mode.

It's not a black and white issue per-say. For example, we know dungeons will scale in difficulty with better rewards based on how well you clear it. So while you may not need any preparation or consumables to run the dungeon, having them will definitely increase your effectiveness, and likewise your rewards.

  • I mean are consumables strong enough to give % dps increase, because in vanilla WoW for example you could take flask that increase spell damage by 150 and you hit around 600-800 with normal spells. It really depended on how prepared you are, because if you had full world buffs + consumables you would clear raids 40% faster. It was not mandatory in vanilla, but it helped a lot, thats the point I think, they should not put so much brain to make content mandatory to consumables, but give opportunity to clear raids/dungeons faster if you are prepared.
