Motion Sickness

I'm worried about Motion Sickness specially at sea.
Example games like sea of thieves or even raft are games some many of us can't play due to the fact of motion sickness.
Is this something that could be turned off meaning "still water" or something to minimize the feel of waves etc at sea?

  • Hello Sjoko !
I think you mean Motion Blur by Motion Sickness, if so then yes, you will be able to toggle it on and off.

"The game will be highly customizable from a settings standpoint. If you don't quite have the rig necessary to run it, you can dial the game settings down.[7]
Highly scalable options to adjust rendering and particle effects will be offered.[8]
Motion blur will be togglable on and off.[9]" - AoC Wiki

Motion Blur by Motion Sickness, this is a thing

even in Twitch streams if the streamer is streaming something with Motion Blur on, be ready for viewers with motion sickness
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.
  • Not sure what you mean @Arya_Yeshe

I used to be in a guild whose theme was training starfighter pilots in SWG. The simulation-induced gut-wrench is a VERY real phenomenon!

Ultimately, it's up to YOU - the individual - to get over it. Once you've vomited (maybe twice), getting back to it will eventually adjust you to it.

Motion Blur is an effect that gives motion sickness to many people

People have motion sickness even watching streams if the streamer has that effect

So turning off Motion Blur helps a lot of people

So as I understand, motion sickness is the result of motion blur?

Yup, in many games, if you experience motion sickness in a game look for this option and turn it off
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.
  • Alright thank you for clarifying @Arya_Yeshe

I'd imagine an option could be added later on by Intrepid to lock the camera or prevent excessive swaying when out at sea. Or that could just be how it'll work by default, not sure if there's any info on how the camera will behave when on boats.
