Storys within MMO's. What ''semi/short'' - storyline do you like the most in other MMO's?

Hey!
First of, english is not my mother language, so i apologize for any misspellings.
I mostly played World of Warcraft during Vanilla all up to Pandaria pretty much... This is my most serious MMORPG gaming so far.
Through that whole experience i have some memory of a ''side'' story that i very much enjoyed.
The Defias Brotherhood.
Short story, they where a somewhat decent politically powered movement within the Alliance capitol.
The capitol got destroyed
''The stonamasons'' as they where known as first, rebuild the whole capitol.
Ended up with them not getting payed.
They made a revolt in the city, accidently killed the queen.
Got banished.
Banded together as ''The defias brotherhood'.
Swore vengance against the nobles who promissed pay for their work.
Long story shortish..
Thats one of those cool backstorys i really liked. And in later days i came to enjoy even more when i thought about it.
To my main point: I wish this was told to me more clearly in the game. (I was a kid who barely knew english to be fair...)
However I really like that story, so simple, yet complicated. (Have watched some Youtube vids about the story to compliment my ''memory'' in a way)
My question to you guys!
What kind of ''side/short - story'' within any MMO or RPG games you've played peeked your interest? Please let me know!
Best regards

On of them was about a martial arts master and his trainee.
The trainee was impatient and wanted to party, rather then learning how to fight.
The story happened on an island. So the master decided to lock out the island from the rest of the world.
And in the Story you switched into the NPC and played him. You had to complete certain tasks/riddles in order to unlock the Island again. And for every step coming closer to the end. The master appeared and said some meaningfull words to "me". I don't remember exactly what words, but they where very emotional somewhat.
Another long travel-heavy story which happened on an very small island with a lightouse on it. It was about a father who's a starkeeper, his daughter and the deceased mother.
When the mother died, the father started to isolate himself from his daughter. He stopped playing the piano on top of the lighthouse since then. With the Piano he guides the souls to become stars. And the daughter wants him to come over it and start guiding the souls again. Don't remember all of it but it was very sad.
The rescue of mages from Novigrad in Witcher 3
The return of Ysera in Shadowlands
My husband vanished near that cave. I am so worried!

Also I loved the class quests.
Also I loved "random" items that led to a questchain.
WoW was a lovely mmo with a beautiful world. Other mmo never reached this level.
Omg dude that video xD
It turned out I've never seen such stuff before and I like it !
The second was in the Charr campaign where you get to recruit your new teammates. That was super fun as you get to choose them and go on missions together.
Not sure how you can put either of those storylines into Ashes, but those kinds of personalised stories are fantastic.
