I see potential in this game. It looks good! But I have one requests...

Devs and everyone, I have one request since you are a new game in the market and focusing in PVX (Do you even PVX??? Just curious?). The thing is, can you please implement a good-stable system that doesn't support toxicity while Life Skillers can focus on gathering for the guild and supporting the frontline? We don't mind getting kill... is just... please have a good system all round. A good stable system. Many games in the past tried PVPVE and it collapse really fast! Some MMO games have to adapt or apply bandaid or change their game completely to keep the game running.

I cannot stress this enough. If you are going PVX route, please built a system that unite PVPVE together and provides leverage for Life Skillers to support PVPVE in a good direction minus or less toxicity as possible. We also love Risk Vs Reward idea. Just please... unite PVPVE + Life Skillers as one and not divide the community in half.

  • I understand your worry about this game, I so too worry about these things even though my best experiences from classic wow in last few years were from open world PvP, I love open world PVP, but I am not in a mood to fight always, that is problem that is worrying me, although I think that only problem will be PvE areas with open world dungeons or really good farming areas, for farming areas I think I will be fine if I die 1v1 no matter how many times honestly, just make sure its fair fight, but for PVE open world dungeon / bosses areas, there will be a mess because of high competitive PVP guilds that ruin fun, not because they win fight, but because they are persistent in that, they wont stop for a whole day because their compulsive competitive desire is making them not to. Thats what happened in New World although we have PVP it happened in another way. Those competitive groups are doing elite areas in 20x time bigger number then it is recommended to enter area (5men), this made NW completely toxic for me because there is no immersion, they go from area to area finishing it in 10mins to get the fastest possible loot. When I ask in chat to go 5men to elite area, I do not get a whisper for an hour before I quit recruiting. Believe it or not, when you give players chance to do this, they will do it, no one today wants to ''waste'' 1hour of something if they can get loot in 10min. This is problem that is tied very closely to MMO genre because MMO servers its purpose and its all about end results. You are doing processes and processes to reach end results which makes people totally impatient and competitive. Other games do not have such a big impact on our brain as MMO games have. So my only worry is how to make game both progressive and teach players lesson to not speed-run and actually enjoy process. I know many of you won't agree with me, because you did not fall into this loop of speed-running, but I think community is divided 50/50, I see clearly with my eyes how other people on twitch are playing MMOs.

    I do not see however that someone speed runs Everquest 99' because that is pure old fashioned traditional RPG where no speed runner will play it, they are all gathered on new age MMOs for many reasons of convenience and budget companies. They search for mainstream and they will be on AoC too.
  • I am a player from BDO and let me say that the PVX (PVPVE) community is divided really badly. That is why I am trying to post these issues as soon as possible so the devs can be aware and make Ashes Of Creation better! I hope it isn't too late.

    The game developers are real gamers and probably know as much as anybody about the state of play. They want everybody to have fun without toxicity which is a tall order. With a subscription model they will need a wide variety of players.

    It's kind of hard to extrapolate any useful feedback from vague statements, but Ashes will have some systems in place to help curb "toxicity."

    One can find toxicity in PvE centric MMOs just as likely as one can find it in PVP MMOs. At least in a PVP centric MMO toxicity can have even greater repercussions.

    No one, regardless of play style, wants toxicity other than a very small minority of players.

    if you're gonna make a request, it also help if you can toss an concept idea, what solution can you think of? maybe we can work build on that or completely show you why it wouldnt work and find another way.

    there are already 2 systems in place. one was made by the devs, and the other one is called not going out alone :D

    also, what do you mean by toxicity?

    I've created something here to show everyone what is going on with PVX (PVPVE) from many many other games. Currently, there are no solutions. If the player base can help devs and chip in and see what can be done to solve this dilemma, then Ash oF Creation will be a fantastic game! It will be!! Please take a look at the picture:

  • 1.] We need something that can stop PVE from body-throwing over and over. This is toxic. From the other hand, there are PVPs players that target low-level players and PK life skillers. This is also toxic as well. If this is not solved, many players will leave the game. I understand that this is an ongoing issue for many PVX games.

    2.] Life Skillers like to gather and RP. But, they will get killed by PKer, because they are easy targets.

    To solve these issue, PVE “Body Throwing” and PK needs some sort of heavy punishment. For example, a debuff for an hour? Personally, I don’t know what kind of debuff since I cannot test the game out. I am sorry. But, what about a cooldown to stop repeated action (doing it over and over).

    I am just giving out ideas. Since this game is so new. I don’t know clearly what they have in place. I read the Wiki but that is like on paper. If you get what I am trying to say here?

    PVP and PVE, please help if you can. I am a Life Skillers… to be honest. I like to support the frontline and help with resources.

    The corruption system is so repressive that it will certainly turn off the majority of players' desire to free PK.

    The perverse effect could be the (potential) loopholes in the corruption system and players could harass other players without attacking them (stealing mobs, resources etc...) until they are attacked and can then respond without becoming corrupted.

    The devs know very well that players will try to bend the rules and it's hard to argue with a system that we haven't tested yet. Personally, I decided to trust the devs and wait patiently until I can try it myself.

    The Alpha 2 will be an excellent opportunity for feedback.
  • That is interesting and amazing to read! I hope that the devs will do their best to make the corrupt system balance and make the game enjoyable for all sides - PVE - PVP - Life Skillers. As a life skillers, I am intrigued with the "Risk Vs Reward" system as well. I also would love it if there is a system where Life Skillers are prove useful instead of being thrown about like "you are useless! Get lost!" We want to be part and help as much as we can!!
