Just watched an Nvidia stream on twitch, where they actually ran 1440p with 60 FPS and it looked really nice! Something to perhaps look towards in the future for Intrepid.
Step 1: Have Nvidia level access to stupidly hardcore encoding, massaging every bit they send out.
Step 2: Profit

I wish they could just let us stream at whatever definition we want haha
The problem is, when you stream at 1440 you lose the option of 1080. You either go 1440 or 720, viewers can't downgrade from 1440 to 1080.
The other issue is that Twitch hard caps you at 6k bitrate (ok, so its a little higher and Partners can get away with it) but the issue is there is no way to get up to the bitrate you'd need for 1440 footage.
So at the end of the day they'd either need to go to YouTube so they have the bitrate they need, and lose a ton of audience, or they need to just stream at 1080p and then upload 4k footage to YouTube.
I was not aware they were partnered since they didn't have a sub button and I also did not know the option of 1080 was not available if you stream 1440p. Thanks for the info ^_^
