GM/Player Interaction?

One thing ive enjoyed in other MMOs is interacting with gms. this got me thinking of an idea I wanted to share here. What if some people from intrepid walked around in game as certain NPCs/Mobs? For Example, you where walking around enjoying your adventure and notice a spirit or ethereal being. You walk up and start trying to talk to it and either get a response or it doesn't even acknowledge your presence. Maybe it gives you a small blessing. Maybe it watches you die and offers a revive.
The idea being these experiences could differ in an infinite number of possibilities that could change based on the world or anything really. (think big foot or loch ness monster of AoC) and maybe these are something that's experienced rarely or once in a lifetime
