Will Ashes Of Creation Have Any African Influence In The Final Game?

I posted a blog detailing my ideas, but as the title suggests, do you guys think there might be some African representation based on culture and architecture in the game? https://omnigeekempire.com/2023/01/01/will-ashes-of-creation-have-any-african-influence-in-the-final-game/

Cool artticle! WOuld of been fun to have more pictures in there but I did go check some of the architecture suggestions you provided! I would love to see it.
Some of the styles tie into the Kaelar vibe and I feel thats where they will add African influence in. Yes Kaelar fits the "arab" spectrum but its not just the middle-east but also North-Africa, so it would make sense to delve deeper into african culture there as well.
Edit: Vaelune**
Edit: Wiki quote.
You will see in the different races that are available from a player character standpoint a lot of different influences that reflect many cultures in the world: Not just European, not just Africa, not Mesoamerican. These cultures are going to be present in many of the races.[43] – Steven Sharif
Yeah, I'm aware of that, I was thinking more of what they did with the Kaelar or the Ren'Kai. Where it goes beyond looks and you see it in their armor weapons and even architecture.
I was thinking that the Tulnar might be that race since nothing is being confirmed yet in terms of their inspiration. What do you think?
I remove my quote from you because my comment was directed at your initial message, all good now
Are you referring to the Vaelune? As I was thinking the same, however in recent updates, they seem to have leaned more toward their Middle eastern inspirations.
the Kaelar are inspired by European culture if I'm not mistaken unless something changed that I missed
Yes mb I mean Vaelune. The letters dont click to me still to this day lol, i associate the Vaelune sounds with european and Kaelar with more african vibes haha but yeah.
Honestly, I just gave a plethora of options, ideally, they'll just pick one civs architecture to work with! So either Askum Kingdom or Songhai Empire will do if I had a pick
That is a possibility, I guess we'll have to wait for the next livestream to see what they have in store for us
People have got to disassociate "Tribal" as the only form that Africa has! The "tribes" that are in the game, are not what I would consider African rep, since every region and culture has had what is considered tribes by that word's definitions.
That's like ignoring the progress that the Germans went through and only ever thinking of them as Barbarians.
Africa as a civilization has been on par (give or take) with other regions in their respective time period.
The Tulnar don't have to be "tribal" to have African influence if Steven decides to go in that direction. You'd be surprised by the types of architecture, political systems, laws, military conquest etc Africans had throughout history if you look for it.
It is not ignoring the progress at all, each race is influenced by real worlds races, the spot with which they chose that influence doesn't erase invalidate or change the past or future of that culture, it is only chosen in an attempt to make a the game more interesting and fun to play.
I know, I assumed from the previous message that you implied unless a race is tribal, then they couldn't add Africans in. You know, playing into that whole dark continent lies!
I may have misinterpreted the message. If that's the case I apologize.
