for me i want to experience the feeling of starting a new adventure again, starting off as a adventurer in a big world, walking down dark windy roads with the fear of being ambushed by something to high for you to even see its level, the first times seeing zones, getting lost and spending hours just exploring,

seeing high levels standing around in high level gear and using it as motivation to push forward and grow my character, i miss the feeling that your character is unique and is your identity on the server, all these old nostalgic feelings,

i love what they are doing wish the armor sets but i really hope it doesnt ruin the immersive feel of a new world and server

what are you guys most excited for?

Starting out on the same level as everyone else, truly the same level, a lot of content will be shown in the Alpha, but the game will still have lots to give on launch, with so much to learn it will be nice that for once im not starting 2000 hours behind the next guy.

you're right, also i hope they dont release new levels with expansions, it could work sort of like classic wow did with phases but each phase being an expansion but no new levels released

I want to be able to wist hours away with various in game projects. I want to be able to change activities on the fly and also partake in PvP when possible. I hope to be able to grow with the game and also become excellent with my class. I feel I will only have 1 main character to focus on. Usually, I make alts if alts have some benefit to them but I feel I should know what I want from my main after various alts in A2.

Find friends, find fights, find fun!

This means good social interfaces for guilds, nodes, questing and so on. This means low down time when looking for a PvP fight or large open-world PvE encounter.

Remember, there's always an 'F' in fun. And I like havin' f'in fun.

Then another player with same class would still be able to chase you.
But in AoC, mounts will run faster.
Mount speed might not depend on rider's class.

I want a game to play that will last me years. Something that I will keep me coming back too.
I want to make meaningful friendships, build a community. Have people I come on to talk to every day and have fun and play with.
A world that I can get forever distracted and lost in, that will keep my interest. Going out, completing goals and finding new ones.
I want to collect as much as possible and have a hoard of items and cosmetics to play around with.
I'm excited to join in on day 1 and be there as the world evolves and the lore is created.
What I want is my forever game and everything so far is pointing in the right direction.

remember opening your friends list and seeing 40 green dots of friends online!
  • i want to be creative. I dont have time or the interest to be competitive in games no more. I know I will get Pked, but Im hoping to at least be able to defend myself, and then play the game, all facets.

I want to feel like I can live within the world of Verra. Explore, work, socialise, battle and have adventures. Gaining levels should be something that occurs in the background as a consequence of existing in this world.

I can't wait to just relax and soak in the atmoshphere of Verra. I'm fully ready to just soak it all in and enjoy my time away from the pressures and responsibility of the real world!!

The best combat in the genre and Intrepid can deliver.

  • A game that doesn't turn out to be a grind or a job to attempt to be relevant. And no endgame lol...

I want to ctrl alt delete > task manager my brain while playing and see higher than the 5% brain usage most modern games require. When I succeed, I want to be rewarded. When I fail, I want to be punished.

I want a game that caters to emotionally mature and stable people who can take the losses just like they can take the wins. Normal people as we used to call them. I want all of this, as opposed to the button mashing, dopamine injector simulators that we now call games.

I would like to see meaningful large scale open pvp similar to DAOC.
I would like to see Open RvR/GvG similar to Warhammer Online.
I would like to see pvp lakes that auto flag you with a timer.
I would like to see an endless tower mode.
I would like to see class synergy with siege weapons.
I would like to see pvp track rewards similar to New World.
I would like to see a guild pvp member rank system that awards special abilities/appearances similar to Aion abyss pvp that can be used during large scale warfare.
I would like to see as many different bgs/pvp scenarios as possible upon launch and not just one map.
I would like to see armor/weapon cosmetics removed entirely.
I would like some fights to be in the dark.
I would like their to be a mob bank/mercenary faction similar to game of thrones that can be vied for.
I would like dmg from a greater distance to be reduced.
I would like to see the best anti-cheat’ that money can buy with a strong maintained focus on it.
I would like to see class specific abilities that can only be found or earned with in-game feats.
I would like to see group synergy abilities.
I would like to see loot tables removed entirely.
I would like to see monster play similar to Lotro.
I would like to see Standard-Bearers that have impact in pvp.
I would like to see trophies on mounts.
I would like siege defense to have customizable trap layouts.
    I should stop now.

Games are made to create addiction.
I think chances are small AoC to attract players who have not played an mmorpg before because they will not understand why AoC is better. They'll come with different expectations which other mmorpgs fulfill and exploit to lure them there.
But this would be what I would expect from AoC, to be able to retain first time mmorpg players.

I'm probably wanting too much from the mmorpgs genre with the technological limits we currently have. However, before we have a quantum computer in every home, I will be satisfied with an immersive world which feels like I'm not the centre of it but still having an important role to play in my immediate environment. I want to be part of a greater whole that has a meaningful effect on the world. A world which changes. For example, old raid bosses that end up being vanquished and their homes taken up with other creatures who fill the void, maybe even by the races that once were enslaved by them and their old masters becoming the stuff of myth and legend.

Wishful thinking list despite current limitations of the genre:

A game that continues to grow, without becoming a hockey stick of never ending power, which of course is not sustainable. That's probably the hardest one. and I'm not sure if everyone is after that sort of thing from this title anyway.

I could add a heap of things here, but it's pointless. I just hope they make a good game which will last a number of years, I see a great potential.

An engaging, immersive experience I can spend most of my free time in, where I also feel I won't be left behind if I take a small break. Should be easy to make ;)
