Join @Roshen and @Vaknar over in the Ashes of Creation Discord for a voice chat during our next Community Office Hours on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 4PM PST (Convert to your local time). This event should last about one hour.

For this session, we will be using Discord Stage. Every 8 minutes, we’ll be bringing up small groups of players.

The Tank archetype, based on what we shared during the January 2023 Development Update Livestream, will be our main focus this time. The forum feedback thread for this topic is here.

In this session, we’ll break each of the 8 minute segments up to focus on one of these conversations:
  • General Tank Discussion - Based on what we shared during the last Livestream, what do you like about the current direction of the Tank archetype, and what are your concerns?
  • Abilities That Can Be Used While Using Other Abilities - During the January Livestream, we mentioned Grit (timestamp), an ability that can be used at any time. What do you like about this? What don’t you? From other games you’ve played, do you have concerns with abilities like this?
  • Tanks in PvP - Mechanics and designs of class kits should matter in PvX (both PvE and PvP settings) was something we discussed during the last livestream (timestamp to this discussion). From other games, what do you like and what do you dislike about how tank abilities do or don’t work in PvP and PvE situations?
  • Tanks in High End Raids and Dungeons - Groups will need players with primary archetype Tanks to complete challenging content. What do you like about this, and what concerns do you have? Context on this topic from the last livestream (with timestamp).
  • Unique Threat Mechanics - How do you feel when raid bosses or other significant NPCs have unique threat mechanics? Are there specific ones you’ve enjoyed (or strongly disliked) from other games?

If you’d like to contribute to this discussion, we recommend you watch the “Alpha Two Tank Preview” video before this Community Office Hours session.

Thanks again! We look forward to chatting with you all soon!

Hey all! I moved some comments here giving feedback regarding the Tank archetype to the official Tank feedback thread!

We love to see your feedback! Making sure it goes into the correct thread is one of the best ways to ensure that the team at Intrepid can see it! <3

We look forward to seeing y'all in our next Office Hours session. If you have feedback regarding Office Hours, be sure to drop it in this thread!

Office Hour feedback: I understand a hands-off approach is best to make sure the conversations flow naturally, but as it seems like speaking within time constraints is important for each Office Hour, it might be good to occassionally remind people limit extensive discussion until everyone has gotten a chance to say their initial comments. Kind of like an initial round table, then use the rest of the time to have discussion on whatever part you had feedback on. That way, people are more conscious of how much time they're taking and not just rambling on a stream of consciousness.

Another recommendation is to maybe suggest people who raise their hand to be brief/give a summary of what feedback they want (obviously very loosely enforced) as this would make the time constraints more up-front in peoples minds. Anyone raising their hand must have something they want to say, so it shouldn't be unreasonable to remind those people that everyone else who raised their hand also has something to say. Text chat is going great though, and the moderator comments in chat/on voice are always helpful. Great work so far.

In regards to the office hours, I'd like to make a suggestion, this also applies to the latest dev discussion posts, if it's not too much work, I'd like to see an update / recap posted like @Vaknar used to do in the dev discussions

This was really nice to see, gave us an insight on the overall sentiment for that particular discussion :)
