The mage has clean animations. The other classes have visual clutter

Did you felt like that?
Every ability animation of the mage we saw today was a full bodied element, finding it's target, whereas with the melee classes there was a lot of flashy in the way.
No sause, no fillers, no flashy mess.
Just ice and lightning (and sleepy dust).
Great stuff.
I suggest that when it comes to melee classes, the devs work a lot more on character body posture and movements leading up to a weapon strike, instead of bright colors.

Like they said on the stream, these were second passes already. Which is why they looked cleaner. If anything, I'd say this was an indicator of the potential look of all the other abilities. They'll have less clutter, smaller vfx and will just overall look cleaner. And I'm sure they can polish them even better later on, on top of any options that we'll have when it comes to vfx scaling and all that.
