Hello everyone. I haven't been up-to-date on whats been going on with Ashes since probably 2019. I am a Kickstarter backer and want to know what stage we are in, Been looking forward to this game since i saw it come out on Kickstarter and am hoping that we are getting close to Alpha 2 or beta.
Also, are we going to have a druid class in the game??

Alpha2 is under 2 years away (but no exact date). Druids can be different, so dunno whether any of the classes would match your particular preference. But wiki has all the info on the archetypes and classes so you can look for yourself.
Close-ish. In a recent Q&A that had lots of questions regarding Alpha 2 answered Steven said it is "not years" till Alpha 2 starts, so less than 24 months, presumably (not definitely). Furthermore it has been said that the first tests for the Alpha 2 will begin by the end of the year / starting 2024.
Question 2: Will there be a druid class?
Depends on what you deem a "legit druid class". The shapeshifting kind of druid that WoW has will not be part of the playable classes - as of now.
Sidenote: The following statements are not confirmed features but likely based on the information available on the Wiki and the footage shown in the monthly livestreams.
There is the Shaman (Cleric + Summoner) that seems to be a nature based support/healing class.
There is the Beastmaster (Summoner + Ranger) that seems to be able to conjur nature based minions (up to 3) and has nature spells.
And it might be possible to specialize on Earth and Lighting magic with a Mage class.
I've been looking forward to this game
Same, but as it stands now there is reason to argue that there the game will take probably at least another 3 years easily before releasing, though I wouldn't see that as an issue but rather part of the necessary time it takes for this game to come out in a decent quality, given the "Indie" status of the studio and various hurdles in the beginning (2017 )
