Sorry, if I missed a better thread for this question, but is there a way to trade the pre-order pack cosmetic items?

Being able to trade cosmetics for in-game currency would be seen as Pay-To-Win, and Intrepid are firmly against Pay-To-Win.
I hope we will be able to use these cosmetics in Alpha 2.

I hope for this too, even if it's a limited scope, so we can see what kind of impact cosmetics might have from a...there's a word or term people keep using that's like "you can somewhat tell how strong a person is from a distance based on the armor they're wearing". I can't remember what it was called...

They're already using them in the livestreams. I don't see why they'd take that function out of Alpha-2 if it's already there. They'll want us to test for clipping/inconsistencies/etc anyway, I'm sure.
