Official Names of Days, Months?

KashQuestsKashQuests Member, Alpha Two, Early Alpha Two
Greetings and Well Met,

I've seen a few past discussions on holiday and calendar events, but has Intrepid established official names of days of the week or months yet? Or any measurement of time? Kind of like Morndas, Tirdas, etc etc in the Elder Scrolls series? I've checked the Wiki and couldn't find anything. Asking for a friend who's kind of a lore nerd.

Thanks for any insight!

Idk if I'm in the minority, but I hope not. It ends up being confusing, and people will use the IRL names anyway.

As a matter of fact, they have. It has a rich lore. Read up about it here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar

Couldn't find the "Intrepid - Ashes of Creation" names on there.

I like when games use their own calendar. I think it adds to the whole experience. So I am all for them making up their own names and systems. We could have 5 seasons of 2 months each and 6 days in a week or whatever. Time moves much faster in Verra than in RL, so it wouldn't match RL time either way. As long as it's well thought out and matches their seasonal event system, I would be up for whatever.

@Nerror that's a good point, I forgot that it likely won't be 1:1... however it still seems likely that players won't say "hey when is X happening" and the other player will respond with the in-game name... they'll say its on Wednesday.

I see what you did there :) And just before I clicked on the link I thought - Hmm, that calendar seems oddly familiar ;)

Thanks for the responses, after my research I figured there wasn't anything official just yet. Anyway, its for some fan fiction stuff so I thought I'd give it a go. Safe Travels all!

If they are gonna do game-specific calendars, I hope they do it for gameplay related reasons rather than just flavor / lore reasons (e.g. I hope they don't simply rename the 12 months & 7 days ... coz in that case players are just gonna use Gregorian).

For example, the supposed "Verran-Calendar" could be tied to its multiple moons, with cycles that affect the landscape (mobs activity, resource spawns, environmental buff/debuff ... etc.) differently, or have the calendar linked to Verra's imaginery fantasy seasons (if any, as discussed in another seasons thread some months ago) ... etc.

Hell yea! Since the moon cycles and stars are such a thing in Verra, it would be amazing for the calendar to be based on some kind of astral system. Great idea!
