Tavern ownership, freehold or city?
sunnyravencourt
Hey all,
My dream is to be a tavern owner/operator. From what I can gather, and I may be wrong here so feel free to correct me. I can either get a freehold and build a tavern on it or I can apply for a permit to build a tavern in a node big enough to support one and whoever is in charge of the city can grant me that ability.
What are the advantages or disadvantages to these options? I assume people can still come to my freehold and visit my tavern. Might be a bit harder to find. But I guess there's no guarantee that I could even get a tavern in a city? Are there differences in the type of tavern?
Could I build a tavern on someone else's freehold with their permission and get the money from the sales?
Thanks for your help!
Sunny

The most optimum location for a tavern woukd be anywhere a lot of people are farming/fighting/questing so they can rest, eat and drink for buffs prior to the adventure.
An in node tavern would make more from Inn rooms to my knowledge. I think you could make a lot from Inn rooms now housing elsewhere is so limited.

I guess foot traffic would be important. In so many MMO's, once you're done with a zone, there is no reason to ever go there again. Only the highest end zones get any foot traffic. You'd think that would be an advantage for a city. Although plenty of cities (looking at you Darnassus, Ironforge, etc.) are ghost towns too.

It's more that you care WHICH plot your freehold is on.
Tavern right outside the popular dungeon is going to be popular.

Fair point. I'll bet freeholds become really expensive in a hurry. A good freehold tavern may be worth more than a tavern in a big city.
