Allow each player to buy and build on instanced private islands.

Make them half an acre like the original freeholds, one per account shared across characters, and make them accessible only through t6 metropolis nodes where you are a citizen. This will allow everyone to use their freehold skins and access to farming and husbandry if they desire, alongside personally built and maintained processing stations. To prevent them from being overpowered, give them the same pillaging rules as instanced apartments during sieges.
Even in cutthroat games like Albion Online, where only the biggest and wealthiest guilds own territory in the open world, people still need somewhere to call there own with private islands. AoC will be no different. This isn't flying mounts. Locking 95% of the playerbase out of core content is a recipe for discontent and frustration.

instanced housing will be the least risk involved since the investment in them are minimal and the risk is low since if you do loose the node everything egts pack uped and mailed to you for you next appartment.
Housing plots in city will be less of an investment than freehold with potential reward depending on how node develops
Freehold have a high investment requirments compare to the others upgrade/builds takes 5k+ resource an upgrade from what we say from screenshot in livestream to get them leveled up the return from the investment will come over time however it can go up in smoke if a node looses a war and raider destroy the freehold.
yes freeholds look cool having ur own plot of land and all that but i feel alot of players wont want to bother with the investment and potential risk involved in them when there are easier options not to mention alot of players give 0 shits about housing in games.
Same way not every guild will have cnotrol of nodes, etc or players have flying mounts this is the same way except a lot more people will be able to have freeholds than like a few handful of flying mounts.
This encourages sieges to destroy nodes and freeholds to open up room for more. Anyone wanting a house will get one, that isn't the same for end game housing that is going to be far more competitive and social at the same time.
