So You Built A Ship - Now What?

Greetings. I anticipate that once you and your crafting associates build a ship you may want to test it. After all, you are possibly going to barter or sell it and someone will ask how it handles. Point of clarification - can you have a 'navigator' take it out to sea? The are a couple of reasons, like making design change or an add on to it. Once a ship is seaworthy, can you modify it? To some, it's not just building and selling a ship: It's also learning its capabilities and tinkering with it. Looking forward to some feedback and thoughts, Skaff.
