There are no ultimatums or absolutes.
I haven't made any demands. Nor is there a breakdown in relations.

From a pvp standpoint you have different expectations.... Some players want to be on a leaderboard and show they are the best while they climb in arena rankings. Others want to own the map destroying all people, towns, etc in their path.... their leaderboard is owning the map. And then there are those who just want to run around killing anyone and grief them for pleasure... asserting their dominance. This is just 3 different mindsets of the pvp community. I am sure there are many more reasons, but what a person wants from pvp is very subjective and not everyone envisions what is a good time within the pvp lane of play. What I want is smooth gameplay and for it to feel interactive with decent rewards for winning. That could be arena, dueling in the open world, or stealing a caravan from a group.... Make it feel exciting and engaging and not a.... well we have nothing to do.... oh look there is a level 3 noob that we can just camp for hours.

I think there is really no middle.
Either you will be willing to play on a PvP server or you won't.

Ok, with our typical experience with games which offer only PvP and PvE servers there can be no middle.
    Because there are:
    1) hardcore PvP players who can be happy without any PvE at all, maybe they even hate it. They say corruption is too much pain. Ganking is normal.
    2) PvX who would chose PvP servers, willing to PvE sometime and maybe not enjoying the life with hardcore PvP players
    3) PvX who would chose PvE servers, willing to have PvP sometime
    4) hardcore PvE players who can be happy without any PvP at all, maybe they even hate it. They say corruption is not enough.

And even in this case, there are some which will oscillate between categories. Those more closely in the middle would even want to change between PvP and PvE servers more times which would be like moving between a low corruption and a high corruption area.

Me and the boys are most looking forward to the arena
Its a shame there is no 2v2 as this was one of the fun brackets to warm up
    But 3v3 and 5v5…cannot wait!

I think people avoid PvP and choose to PvE because it is easier because alot of MMO’s the boss fights or dungeons were learnt through playing it over and over - you know what to expect when you come back.
And having more then 10+ 20+ people, it was easier to say (blend in) as long as you did certain x amount of damage you were okay and overlooked
Not at all saying PvE does not require skill, it does

Having PvP like Arena for example
Requires fast decision making against unpredictable opponents, this skill set is different and requires a lot more effort and time to learn however feels much more rewarding. In the arena, there’s not many people to blame so all decisions made will either have consequences or gain. You need to be able to trade cooldowns, synergise with your team to do set up kills or simply pop your defensives and not double stack with your healer (for example)
These kind of critical decisions will either win/lose for your team

I for am looking forward to both
However the competitive and intensity play of arena will always be my preference

Did the Lost Ark one but not for long
    WoW
    - Every expansion since TBC (2007)

Wrath of Lich King expansion is by far the best MMO ive ever played not just PvP but also the PvE, can really feel how much effort and time they put into it compared to later expansions

So you havent tried ESOs arenas and PvP zone?
    You haven't tried BDOs arenas?

I did do Elder Scrolls Online too
The PvP zone was just a lag fest when it first released (cool concept though I didn’t think it got executed correctly)
    But not their Arena

New worlds PvP zone was just the Outpost rush which was okay, it was the only PvP thing available at the time then quit

EDIT: WoW arena has been the majority one of done though, and as you can imagine each expansion brought a whole different type of experience to each of the seasons

Literally cannot wait for Ashes because WoW just needs to die but won’t 😂

In Ashes you wont progress through arenas, you wont gain vendor coin for pbp gear.
It's a side activity for people to battle it out in an isolated environment.

The only arena that will matter so far in AoC is the mayors possition at military nodes.

Arenas in AoC wont steal content from:
    Owpvp
    Caravans
    Sieges
    Naval
    Clan wars
I hope this doesnt alert you because it is intented design.

Yeah, was just answering the OP’s question of what do you like? Which is what I answered
Here’s what is confirmed so far

The arena ladder system records a player's progress within PvP seasons based on their arena win/loss ratios.[2][4]

Titles can be received from arena play.[8]
Other rewards will be revealed at a later time.[7]

Performance in various PvP systems (such as Caravans, Arenas, Guild wars) is measured over the course of 6 month PvP seasons. At the end of each season, a player's cumulative score may unlock various rewards.[2][13]

    Gear enhancement rewards.[13]
    Achievement ranks.[13]
    Purchasing power (Currency).[13]

    And the leaderboard

And that’s the thing, I’m actually excited about the way (so far) it’s been designed
You do PvE, raids, dungeons, sieges, crafting to get gear and use that to compete in the Arena to flex on the leaderboard for titles and sockets etc

It got stale and very exclusive in other MMOs which is PvP players just farm and get there PvP gear and sit in arena missing out on other aspects of the game

The game is designed to try everything it has to offer which I for one am all for and will definitely be doing!

What I’m honestly hoping to see a good ranking system for the Arena (1s / 3s and 5s) with proper team names, player names, server based stats, your rankings according to your Primary class in the server, and where your position is on the ladder for you and your team.
Another thing is the 20v20 battles they were talking about I’m hoping they release a ranked or rated version of this with unique awards based on the rank you and your team end a season at.
Rewards can be: (Based on end of season rank)
    - Mounts and mount colors
    - Unique X-Mogs
    - Pets or companions
    - Titles
    - Tabards or Shirts that do no increase stats but pure aesthetics (similar to the Gladiator Tabards)
    - Enchants or Weapons / Armor only accessible hitting a certain rating / rank that has better stats

@Pyrolol don’t forget, i think it’s time to bring Version 4 of the *Pre-Expac Ganking Challenge into the mix hahaha

*This was a tradition on our sever in WoW and would love to see the Ashes community involved in this one
