Time spent in different nodes.

Hi there,

Just wondering what people think about time spent in their own node vs other nodes will be.

It seems logical that one would want to spend alot of their time in the node that they are working towards citizenship/are already a citizen of. If your xping/gathering/questing help your node grow, then doing that in an adjacent friendly node, or an enemy node only really helps the enemy. Not only that, but there is less travel time if you just log in and farm your own node. You are also less likely to be PK'd by members of your own node as you are all helping the node progress.

Of course you may still want to go to an enemy node to bring a caravan, gather something special, complete a quest, kill a boss ,or PK players.

Not sure what everyone thinks, but it seems like there might more benefits to staying in your own node like 80% of the time or whatever.

Anyone else been thinking about this?

Yeah this was a hot topic a while ago too. I'll try to go find that thread if you're interested in reading it.

I don’t plan on being part of a ‘home node’ for a long time. There is way too much to explore.

I wouldn't say that 80% of the time is benefitial for your or your groups/guilds progress to stay in one node.

Raiding loot materials as well as hunting spots with good xp return per hour will be all around the map and heavily contested.
As a hardcore pvper I know how easily it is to get sucked into a contest for a grinding, and the wise people will move on most of the times.
People will always rush to lv cap and can still be wealthy enough to claim land. Not everyone will care to stick around and provide xp to the node through their activities.

80% seems waaaaay to much. I'd say around 30 if you care a tiny bit for your node. Lower if not.

The sea. Lots of time to be spent out there.

I guess where you spend your time has more to do with your objectives and how you like to play the game; when you find out what you like.

Intrepid would probably have to add some incentive to staying in your node longer, cause I doubt people on average would plan far ahead to realize that 'if I don't do stuff in my node it might decay and I'll lose citizenship/apartment/freehold/etc".

Whatever I bring back to my house in my node should benefit my node.
The node where I keep most of my gold should be happy.
    Unless is a tax heaven.
