Races and Starting Zone

So, I was interested in playing a different race from the rest of my friends at the start of A2. Will they still be able to join me in my beginning starting zone, or we all have to start at different areas and then afterwards just meet up later down the line?

I believe you can choose the divine gateway you start at. So, in theory any race can start anywhere and all friends can start together.

Really hope they AoC doesnt cave on this. This is a great compromise for those players wishing to focus on a racial community as well as those wanting to join friends.

Not saying development will cave in to this gate starting mechanic. I am saying I hope development doesn't.

For example, say select races have an advantage starting out at their assign racial gates. Even if the advantage is only geographical node claiming. How long till the more ARAC formed guilds or guilds/players not as concerned with the world's racial lore or racial node mechanics begin to question why they are at a disadvantage for having to start at their non racially select gate so they can just "play with their friends" ? It isn't an uncommon argument heard in past mmorpgs.
