In Ashes of Creation formen Spieler die Welt. Ermöglicht wird das Ganze durch die Nodes. Dabei handelt es sich um Bereiche in der Welt, die sich weiterentwickeln und dadurch neue Städte, Quests, Dungeons, Raids oder sogar Weltbosse freischalten. Aber sobald man eine Node ausbaut (durch questen oder farmen), deaktiviert man die umliegenden. Das führt schlussendlich dazu, dass sich die Welt auf jedem Server anders entwickeln wird.
