relationships between players and environment?

When it comes to players, caravans, and mounts I was wondering if certain items and environment conditions might affect certain aspects of exploration. ex: would carrying meat on your person or in a caravan increase aggro from predatory mobs towards you or it? Would conditions like temperature or steep inclines affect speed? etc.
