War Wagons

Similar to caravans, but instead of serving the purpose of hauling goods it is made for offensive and defensive purpose.
The war wagon could work using the caravan's mechanics, Components however could be switched out to give more health to the wagon, protection to its occupants, and maybe even a means of using siege like weapons as spells for a raid. The possibilities!
Have some really expensive stuff in a caravan that needs that extra bit of protection?
Why not deploy one or two war wagons to give bandits that extra bit of pause before they think about attacking.
Or maybe you are the bandits and you need to deploy a barrier to stop that caravan and you got the resources to do it.
Tumok giving you trouble? Ballistas! But you might want to be quick to get going because those wagons might become a liability too.
What do you guys think?

We will have group mounts. The group mounts do have weapons systems. I see a war wagon like a group mount.
That is a very interesting take.
I think the clear difference between a group mount and a 'War Wagon' would be collision priority, where wagons can move players, monsters and mounted players. Ships have the most priority, as Steven mentioned.
The difference between a caravan wagon and a War Wagon in the best case scenario is that it would act like siege engines in ESO and in the case that such a thing is not achievable, it acts like an anti-personnel support wagon with a lot of slottable spells that multiple players can mount. (depending on components used.)
I could see them being used in PvP a lot. But PvE would be limited to where their wheels can take them. Pros and Cons, risks and rewards. Because used wrong, it is a resource sink. Used right, and it could help win battles or make sure a delivery is safely made.
Also, they could have weak points too. That would be interesting. I think anyways. Keep in mind though. It works both ways. So defenders might be more 'tanky', but attackers might be bringing catapults.

Yes, I admit it. I am thinking too small and minimalistic. If intrepid wanted to, they could make war wagons and siege equipment epic, like your examples.
But, I think it would be a good idea to start small and then go wild once the system has been proven. Could they have a mechanic that makes a wagon with player seating? Such a wagon could be used to start a traveling business. What if players could also access spells slotted into the wagon in case they are attacked? Then we have the beginnings of a war wagon.
no worries i like the wagon idea's you posted seems more practical to the caravan theme currently. I got a bit carried away with siege ogre's. Maybe we'll see them in sieges. I definitely would prefer them over a 4 wheel pile of logs and beams as catapults hahaha. I just thinking driving a catapult made of only wood seems comical Players wont be pushing siege weapons afaik from their discussions and presentations.

You can see the trebuchet with cockpits and just being driven around like a toy haha
This model requires 4 people, and can probably throw a Volkswagen beetle 600m at least.
I could also see many other parallels between siege, war wagons, and ships.
In caravans they would just be an OP tool for defenders with little to no extra benefit for the attackers should they succeed in destroying it, and killing the players within.
Interesting. Please explain what gives defenders an edge over attackers.
