Every good MMORPG should have a comedy element woven into the dialogue. Innuendos, subtle cultural refererences, surprise outcomes. Obviously use it sparingly. If you think of Warhammer Online, the "waaagh!" ability, I loved that silly goblin and it reminded me of how I like some humor mixed in. There's a balance though to not break the mythical "time period" of Vera with blatant culture references. Mostly what I'm curious about, does the writing have a serious tone?

    We don't know much about the lore or the dialogue/quest lines that will be in the live game. Though steven and the devs are hilarious so I expect humour yeah.

    As long as it's not like ESO (except for the original MSQ).
    That mmo is filled with wise-ass characters trying to be funny.

    I think that when iI watch the testing and the NPCs or players walking along a path, casting a bunch of spells with the camera zoomed out, it lacks personality. I like what they are doing overall but it doesn't have a personality yet and that's ok, one thing at a time.

    I think comedy has a place in all things, but lord have I been scarred by the horrible attempts brought forward by Blizzard in wow to bring their rating down so that more people will play the game. because comedy and broad audience appeal go hand in hand in many of these games.

    I hope that ashes can take itself seriously so that we get a world experience rather than a cheesy tv series with a laugh track.

    Yeah, most things are placeholder. At least i hope its placeholder or the environment will be quite static. Mobs just stand around right now and wait to be killed.
