Will there be cosmetic rewards for getting corrupted?

  • I have an idea for corruption and that is: How corrupted you are will determine how many pieces of equipment a player can loot from your corpse when you die. (Such as your favorite weapon or piece of armor).

You are in luck! It is already in the game just as you want:

Corrupt players (red players) suffer death penalties at four times the rate of non-combatants.[15][18]
Corrupt players also have a chance to drop any equipped items based on their current corruption score, including dropping weapons and armor.[18][26][15][18][96][24]
Any amount of corruption allows a player to drop equipped gear upon death. The higher the corruption the greater the chances.[97] – Steven Sharif

I think, Dripyula has mainly created this Topic - out of Inspiration.

There is just Stuff, Items, Cosmetics, etc. in Games to get, once You have done certain things - and be it oh-so-far divergent from Main Factions and/or Questlines.

A Game in which "is" no real Main Questline or Faction - is for Example the Game from which my Avatar comes - and the adorable Fanart inside my Signature.

    Sea of Thieves.

Just do enough certain Stuff -> like doing work for a single Faction there -> or farm a single Content over and over and over again, like someone who was only born to grind a single Work all Life long (lol),

and you get unique or just more "rare" Item, Sets, etc.

The Idea that Dripyula had here, was to do something around " corrupted Stuff " -> so that maybe as an Inspiration, Token of Reward or however You would call it,

one could see visible on a Character, that engaged into this more or less or unique kind of Content, besides anything else that is usually available to do, in the Game.

I personally endorse the Idea of such Contents. Even if it doesn't revolve around corrupted Stuff.

    Like :
    - Help a Faction of Woodcutter's for +6 to 8 eight Weeks in Real Life, when You play for like Two to Four Hours every Workday of the Week or something.

Something that is not to reach to quickly, so it feels somewhat meaningful and rewarding once You earned enough Trust and Thankfulness of the Factions involved,

and then You get for Example unique kind of Axes (Weapon) for your Character, which can have certain Looks so that Everyone can see, that You worked for the Woodcutter-Faction ABC-insert Names here-XYZ.

    - Or for a Faction of Miners.
    - Or for a Faction of Jewel-crafters.
    - Or Weapon Smiths.
    - Or Farmers/Animal Husbandry Stuff.
    - Or Guards, Patrols, Caravan-Escorts, etc.

    - Or an "Underground Thieves-Guild" ?
    - Or a Cult, Sect, Religion, etc etc. ;)

    Just a thought ... ... B)

kill him 1v1 after ur max level xD

I never met him 1v1 again afterwards which was most probably thanks to the fact that he knew his time was up when most people also hit maxlevel. Although he did try to hunt me down with a 5-man group once afterwards in the openworld.
I lured his group in the Alteracvalley entrance in the openworld where I killed his entire playergroup with the help of the raid level elite guards who defended the entrance.

And by sheer coincidence I also defeated a guy who called himself the strongest PvP Shaman back then.
A Troll-Shaman with incredible gear who said he could wipe the floor with Killertomato any day.
How I knew...(?) cause back in the day there was no speaking with the other faction and also no option to have a character on both factions on the same server?

Cause that guy bought another account actually and also played with one character on the Alliances side.
" I can defeat anyone in a 1v1 except for Retribution Paladins. It is just impossible. ", he said.
Which I do not doubted for a second.
Good old classic WoW PvP was rock-paper-scissor with some classes being more of a scissor to everyone else than others.

And the Retributionpaladin, ironically, was a weak chance to beat everyone, if the rng gods were with you.
Except for with high-end raidtier equipment. Then you had a good chance to beat everyone.
And I was geared with 3 armor items from Ahn'Qiraj and two from Blackwinglair.
Plus I used engineer for a job and all kinds of little gimmicks from the entire openworld in the game to make myself stronger for even the tiniest amounts.
    No one could defeat me.
I did not just lived the no-lifer dream I was the dream.

And then TBC hit, "Resilience" came into the game and everything was over in a flash.
I fell asleep in PvP cause I could not burst-kill anyone anymore and henceforth the already PvE dominating necessity of Healers also became the dominant force in PvP.
The dream only held up for a single "expansion". Classic.

Killertomate was never seen again after Classic too and everything became as random and monotonous as it is today. The true dream was classic for many.
Before the first time whole raid-gear was outperformed by the next expansions leveling openworldgear.
And people realized that the mountain only grows.
And if you do not keep climbing, you will not just not be at the top anymore but who knows how far below?
    Some kept climbing.
But I tend to believe the top never came to many.
And that PvP was henceforth the most boring, generic movie ever.
One that you always had to watch again and again.

    Damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal -> damage -> heal...

How about some fancy crits and no more heals cuz CORPSE!?
Ah, no. Impossible. Why would it be possible?
    ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz.

Oh, he did. Dripyula dispatched of Killertomate with his Paladin easily, when both were LvL 60.

Killertomate was never such a truly "strong" or "good" PvP'er. He was more like fighting very hectic and agitated. Much Monkey/Bunny-jumping - and not that much Skill.

He was very successful in being very annoying to witness, however.
