A small risk for caravan robbery and how to avoid it

I've read a lot of talk here about the caravan system after the pvp showcase and one big topic is about whether or not the attackers in caravan PvP should have any added risk apart from just losing time to a failed robbery attempt.
I think one very small and simple thing would be fun in a game that's been described to be a lot about having a good reputation and being overall social:
The highwaymen attacking the caravan would have their names changed to something like "Highwayman" or "Bandit" to players outside their party. This way you can't tell who robbed you and there won't be awkward drama around certain places because someone robbed another player.
This is UNLESS the defenders kill a bandit. The bandit's dead body would show the nameplate of the player in normal fashion and reveal for all the defenders who to have a grudge with in the future!
Now there's an interesting risk/reward mechanic for the attacker since he can decide to go all in and die in the fight and reveal their identity or maybe hold back a bit and try to run away with their identity hidden in case the fight gets too tough.

Hard carry for both teams
