Yep this has been my experience as well. Action combat in new world in larger pvp has functioned fine. Some of the action mechanics are great, some of their mechanics are bad.
I don't care about the system that Ashes employs EXCEPT I don't want it to be a remake of another MMO system that already exists. I want them to improve and iterate on other systems to make a better version of tab/hybrid combat that already exists.
If it looks, feels, and plays like GW2 for instance I'll be disappointed. Not because GW2 combat isn't good and doesn't look good, but you'd hope a game 10 years newer would be better/more refined.
Just an example of course.
I'm fine with a good hybrid system, Predecessor has nailed a good hybrid system that nails it.
I am in total agreeance with you, I typically have begone to ignore the folks here who clearly do not want a new game and just want the same ole shit from their previous titles only to make a shitty game. It's just like PvX, people are trying to get what they want to the forefront of development and everything they hate to the backburner with the foolish caravan arguments.
I also care that Ashes combat is uniquely Ashes combat and has its own stamp and style on it.
Back to the original point, Action works fine and it's totally on the devs to code it well.
