Ideas about augmentation

You will be able to swap your augmenting class from my understanding. From my understanding that will require some form of price or quest. Ok, so from a point of view this is a form of strength of versatility. But what about if you like the one you have? Maybe you could do the same type of quest/ price to go deeper into the same augment class. Or maybe you just get experience in that augment so there are some of which you are stronger. Could work like the professions where in a way like you could only max one of them.

Well, that’s some ideas on that. Reward consistency.Specialised augments.
Would emphasise 64 classes. Maybe not radically. But could emphasise the flavour of augments.

Thanks for reading

Isn't that just leveling up? And supposedly you'll be able to choose where you put your augment points in, so you could put more of them into abilities that feel very class-like, while someone else might put more points into other abilities that are not as close to the class theme.

It's not really necessary to "pay" anything extra to go deeper into you chosen Class.

Well in a way, yes. But your main class could have one level and your augmentation could have a level of its own. That way everyone wouldn’t be a jack of trades of all augmentations. Rather then just swapping to the current meta one could focus on one they like.

The quest/ price I mentioned was in regard to swapping of your augmented subclass.

Archetypes already prevent people from being jacks of all trades. Classes will simply help shift your role in the party to a different side, but it won't completely change your role.

And that shift will supposedly vary between people, as I pointed out above. And I didn't even mention all the other types of augments and also gear - both of which can influence how deep into that role you go.

In other words, we pretty much already have what you're asking for. It just has a different name and application mechanic.

You wrote "Maybe you could do the same type of quest/ price to go deeper into the same augment class."
And... it's still unnecessary to have a quest/price to choose to go deeper into the same subclass.
The "price" is to deter people from changing sub-classes on a whim - so that choices have weight.
